Chiayi, a city about an hour and a half away from Taipei by the high speed rail, is best known as the access point of the scenic Alishan National Scenic Area. Instead of a quick transit at Chiayi to get to the famous Alishan, why not stop-over for a night or two to explore the historic city in southern Taiwan on a leisurely pace? With the relatively lower cost of living here, rest assured you will be able to enjoy your stay in comfort at Day Plus Hotel without burning a big hole in your wallet!

Central location with easy access to major modes of transportation

HSR BRT bus station outside Chiayi HSR station

If you are getting to Chiayi via the high speed rail (or HSR in short), board the free HSR BRT bus at this bus stop outside Chiayi HSR station for about 30 minutes before you alight at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store / FE21 Department Store bus station. Walk towards the direction of the bridge for about 200 metres and you will be able to see Day Plus Hotel.

The hotel is also accessible by train, about 15 minutes away from Chiayi Railway Station by foot. Even for visitors who drive into the city, it is easily accessible via the National Freeway No. 1 and 3. With easy access to major transportation network and close proximity to department stores, this is definitely a plus point for Day Plus Hotel!

A hotel designed to make you feel at home in Chiayi

you don't need to splurge for a great stay at day plus hotel, chiayi | a hotel designed to make you feel at home in chiayi

Back in the 1980s to early 1990s, this building used to be the Yimei Opera House that brought fond memories to the older Chiayi generation with its entertaining performances. As the show business began to decline, the building became defunct until 2011 when Day Plus was officially opened. It was given a new life through the incorporation of local elements into the hotel décor so that it remains a true representative of Chiayi. Hence, upon stepping into the hotel, you will be able to see monochrome pictures of the locals and simple scenery drawings on its white walls, as well as plenty of wooden old-town furniture everywhere.

As you enter the Standard Triple Room, you will find the smart use of space in the longish-shape room with 3 comfortable single beds. At a glance, the narrow-looking walkway may put you off, but surprisingly you won’t feel cramped as you move around this clean and cosy room. Besides, the hotel provides complimentary toiletries packed in small exquisite designed boxes that serve as nice mementos and a thoughtful mini-bar with complimentary local biscuits and Alishan tea sachets. Free Wi-Fi with strong signals is also available in all hotel rooms.

Furthermore, do not miss the complimentary breakfast buffet provided at the basement lounge. It offers a good selection of local breakfast delights, allowing you to enjoy breakfast just like the Chiayi people. All the staff in the hotel are very helpful & approachable, offering prompt assistance when you need it. Needless to say, you will be able to stay in comfort and feel at home with all these efforts put in at Day+ Hotel.
