Here is what the Delux Twin room looks like. The rooms on the Fuji side are sleek western style or Japanese style rooms for the family. The park side rooms are totally different from the Fuji side and are gorgeously made to really experience the nightscape of Fujikyu Highland.

Both views are stunning, but if you want to fully experience Fujikyu Highland you have to stay park side! When you open the window you can see the roller coaster screaming along, which is definitely building the anticipation for when you ride it. Also in the winter the illumination shows really create a romantic atmosphere right in front of you.

Gorge yourself on a luxurious buffet at Fujiyama Terrace inside Highland Hotel

Inside the hotel are 4 different restaurants, Japanese, Chinese, western, and buffet, this time we head to Fujiyama Terrace for their buffet.

At this expansive restaurant you can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and Fujikyu Highland’s illumination show while you dine.

At the live kitchen they cook prime select sirloin steak on a teppanyaki grill as well as fresh pasta.

During select seasons they serve fresh Yamanashi peaches in a Capellini, the fresh ingredients paired with pasta is delightful.

That’s not all, they serve a fresh salad only using local vegetables, appetizers such as carpaccio, seafood dishes that are direct from the ports, dishes using special Shingen Pork, a slow cooked curry, shrimp in chili sauce, and many other dishes covering Asian and western cuisine spectrums.

Of course after dining you can revel in the hotel made desserts, which come in a countless variety! You can even try every single one! That’s the reason for a buffet of course so why not.

Breakfast with the majestic Mt. Fuji in full view is something special

Breakfast is served at either Fujiyama Terrace or Lisa and Gaspard Restaurant. At Fujiyama Terrace the menu is completely different from what was served during dinner and you can have a fluffy and juicy omelet cooked right in front of you. The large window showcases the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji, almost like a gigantic painting. Having breakfast with a world heritage site in your view is definitely something special to experience!!

Of course breakfast is a buffet as well. You can satiate your hunger with fresh vegetables and tasty rice filling you up for the adventure ahead.

Highland Resort’s spa with 7 types of onsen is the largest in Japan

The bath house at Fujiyama Onsen is modeled after the Important Cultural Building Hida Takayama’s “Kusakabe Jyutaku”, and is built without using nails in a traditional town house design. The wood used is Japanese zelkova, Cyprus, and pine, but the main pillars are made from 200 year old Japanese zelkova.

The different baths are the giant granite bath, vanadium onsen, and outdoor bath, lay down bath, jet bath, daily special bath, and water bath. There is also a dry sauna and stone sauna. The bath house is the largest in Japan.

If you are thinking a large bath house is going to be drafty and cold you will be wrong. After warming up thoroughly in the bicarbonate onsen you won’t feel cold one bit.

This immense bath house is free for use for guests staying at this hotel and you can bathe as many times as you want and even enjoy an onsen bath in the morning!!

Although there is some distance between the two buildings there is a hallway connecting them so you don’t have to worry about weather.
