6 Superb HomeAway & Vrbo Rentals For Austin’s Music-Loving Guests

Austin, Texas, dubs itself the live music capital of the world, probably in reference to its numerous performance venues. Its citizens are young, diverse, and recently came up with another slogan, ‘Keep Austin Weird’ - in support of small, local businesses over large corporations.

So you’re here to attend a few shows from your favourite super-duper indie band, and you and a group of fellow fans need some convenient places to crash for a night or three. Here are some perfectly comfortable and beautiful HomeAway and Vrbo vacation rentals you can stay at, so you never have to miss a show or any of the vibrant, innovative city:

1. Vibrant, light-filled stay for large groups (from USD 697)

Staying at this HomeAway is sure to put anyone in a bright mood. It’s full of light and colour, with plants scattered around the building. It’s got vinyl record players and a Sonos Wi-Fi speaker system, which can play through every speaker in the house. Boogie down to your favourite Springsteen tunes with your fellow lodgers.

The musical fun doesn’t stop there. This house is just minutes away from the Broken Spoke, a world-famous honky tonk, a kind of club where you can line dance, drink, and have heaps of fun along with the cool country tunes. After you’re done with line dancing, walk back home for a nice soak in the hot tub in the house.

3. Retro mod house (from 150 USD)

A squat, green couch, and a bunch of old movie posters and advertisements hanging on the wall in a warm brick house. Did we go back to the 70s? Nope. But you might feel like it when you stay at this cute retro house that’s in a really good location. This house is smack bang in the middle of Zilker Park, Barton Springs, and Town Lake, and is surrounded by great restaurants and stores. It’s only a short walk from major festivals like the Austin City Lights festival and SXSW (South by Southwest music / film meet).

This spacious, elegant listing has been reviewed by many as a great getaway for a bunch of friends looking to visit some festivals in towns as well as chill in their own place. The swanky decor of this house provides many Instagram opportunities while you’re staying here. But above that, it’s so comfortable, homely, and fresh. 6. Magazine-worthy central home

Does this place look too good to be true, or what?! You’d better believe it: this HomeAway has rave reviews!

I stayed here for 4 nights in September along with two other adults during our trip to Mondo Con 2014. The house is in a great area. As soon as I walked in, it was as if I had stepped into a West Elm catalog. It was so beautifully decorated. Everything was on point. the bedrooms- the bathroom- every corner of that house was perfect. Loved it and would love to stay again!

This luxurious, well-kept rental apartment has a fully equipped kitchen for all your home-cooking needs. Come home to top notch decor and appliances, knowing you’re in a safe, quiet neighbourhood. There’s a farmers’ market nearby, where you will find all the ingredients you need for a fresh stir fry. Check out the bedrooms! Filled with light and lovely details, you can feel right at home when you lie down for some shut eye. After all, you’ll be needing a lot of rest, since you’ll be checking out stuff downtown the whole day. Speaking of downtown, this house is just 10 minutes away from all the hottest places in Austin to hang. It’s next to North Loop and Airport Boulevard. Airport Boulevard is home to the highly recommended Kickbutt Cafe, famous for its martial-arts-themed decor and its open-mic nights. It’s the perfect high-energy venue for you to sing some tunes or even try your hand at stand-up comedy. Being close to the airport, you won’t have to worry about missing any flights; you can come back from a show, pack up, and be on your way. But with how comfortable this house is, you might have a hard time leaving.
