Located on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Gunby Hall and Gardens represent true British heritage. Whether you want to lose yourself in history or explore the wild gardens, Gunby Hall offers something for every explorer.

English heritage from the word go

Gunby Hall

A charming stately home greets you at the top of the winding driveway. The 17th century build is crammed with history and filled with a homely atmosphere. It’s traditional and beautifully kept interior is elegant and unique with hidden gems around every corner, and is perfect for lovers of paintings!

Due to various opening times throughout different seasons, it is best to visit during summer as the opening hours are longer. Entrance fees will cost 7.50 GBP, approx. 10.7 USD. The property is owned by The National Trust who maintain the upkeep of historic houses so if you wish to contribute to them, a ticket will cost 8.50 GBP, approx. 12.5 USD. It is optional and depends how charitable you’re feeling!

Step inside to grand interior

The Libary

Inside the home, three floors of charm and grand interiors are waiting. With home guides in every room, they are your ‘go to’ for information and details of the house, (not even Google will know the things they know). Dark wood, patterned walls and an endless array of books, you will feel as though you have dived into a period drama. My personal favourite room to enjoy is the library. With more than one story to tell, this room is simply beautiful.

Do be aware that sitting on the furniture throughout the house is not allowed and barriers are protecting delicate pieces. To protect the interior, blackout blinds are common in various rooms, but to be honest, this adds to the grand feel of things.

Delicately explore an English country garden

Wild Flowers

Leaving the house you will have stepped in to a true English country garden. So delicate and pristine, the eight acre garden is filled with wild flowers and fruit trees. After strolling around one of the many walking trails, why not enjoy a friendly game of croquet in the sun or relax on one of the many park benches.

If that’s not enough, visit during the holidays when you can enjoy one of the multiple activities such as an egg hunt or afternoon Christmas carols.

Treat yourself to a little tea party

Courtyard

After exploring the house and gardens, a beautiful and homely tea room is situated in the courtyard. Enjoy seasonal treats and sandwiches with plenty of delicious English tea. If you want to treat yourself to a gift or two, the gift shop is an array of National Trust treasures. From blankets to cookbooks, there is a small token for everyone to take home.

Explore the English countryside at its best

Gunby Hall and gardens are beautiful, historic and surrounded by stunning scenery. Its tranquil walks are guaranteed to make you appreciate the English countryside and is perfect for anyone wanting to soak up some British history.

After exploring the house and grounds, why not head to the seaside town Skegness, a mere 12 km, approx. 8 mi, away. Enjoy the funfair, arcades and a stroll on the beach!
