When you are in Berlin, you need look no further than the magnificent Titanic Chaussee Berlin, which ticks all the boxes and delivers to the maximum in respect to everything and anything that your heart desires. Located at Chausseestraße 30, 10115 Berlin, which is in the wonderful Mitte district, the hotel is in walking distance to some of the major sights and places of interest. Such sights and places of interest include the Berlin Wall, Friedrichstadt-Palast, the River Spree and Unter den Linden. It is in the most creative neighbourhood, full of vibrant culture, cutting-edge architecture, delicious food and a tangible history.

Opulent and stunning entrance

The hotel is close to Berlin Schonefeld Airport and takes approximately half an hour from the airport to reach the hotel, if travelling by taxi. The moment that you enter the hotel, you will be in awe with how beautiful and welcoming it is. Glitz and gloss are all over the reception area and it is surrounded by helpful, personal and multi-lingual staff that are available 24 hours a day. The reception staff operate quickly and take all efforts to assist with any issues or queries that you may have. For example, during my stay, the in-house popular spa was unable to accommodate me due to the fact that I had not made a booking in advance and the reception consequently researched all spas within the area that could offer me the treatments that I sought for the best price.

Spacious, beautifully designed establishment

The photograph that you can see above is an aerial view of the elegant atrium style lobby, which has a cosy bar on the right hand side, which I have provided more information about below. The design and décor of the lobby as well as the entire hotel is very smart, sophisticated and chic. It is contemporary, warm and colourful and will uplift your energy and makes you feel like you’re in your home away from home albeit with a bit more style and glamour. It is a superb place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing or a day full of work and meetings. In addition, if you’re looking for an establishment that does more than provide you with a place to sleep, then the Titanic Chaussee Berlin is for you because of the amenities and facilities on-site.

Multiple places to enjoy incredible food including a patisserie

Satisfying your appetite is a priority for Titanic Chaussee Berlin and it has a number of places available for you to eat. Firstly, there is the Alesta Restaurant, which offers breakfast every day of the week. The breakfast is a mix of Turkish and European food and is extremely impressive. Nothing is of trouble to the chefs or the staff here and they will prepare freshly cooked dishes to the desires of your tastebuds. Secondly, the Pascarella Restaurant, which provides delightful Mediterranean cuisine in an jaw-dropping and gorgeous environment. I would have to recommend that you stop here for lunch or dinner as the food is superb. Thirdly, there is the Celine Patisserie, which is a real bonus if you love afternoon tea or have some sweet cravings and want rooms service to deliver you one of the best desserts that you have ever tried. Last but not least is the Charlotte Bar, which offers a few items to nibble on and some exceptional drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Grand seating areas for work and relaxation

Alongside the restaurants and the bar, you can enjoy some delicious items and thirst quenching drinks; there are also a number of places within the hotel in which you can sit back, read a magazine or a book or do some work. In my view, delivering comfort and convenience is equally a number one priority of Titanic Chaussee Berlin alongside satisfying your appetite. My favourite place to sit within the hotel has to be behind the lifts and next to the various ballrooms on the ground floor, which is what you can see in the photograph above. This area is exquisitely designed and is a very peaceful part of the hotel as it is segregated from the reception, atrium and restaurants. The wall pieces are artistic and beautiful and the entire area truly is an exceptional place in which to lounge around in for a few hours.

I was born in Berlin the year before the wall fell and thus had the fortune and privilege to grow up in a city that was growing up itself. In 2008, I decided to turn my passion for this amazing city into a career by becoming a tour guide. Both my parents lived in East Germany: My dad became a teacher, until refusal to join the Communist party ended his career, whilst my mom worked as a tour guide for tourists from the Soviet Union. In a way, I am following in her footsteps, although our tours would be incredibly different. For instance, my mom failed her first test tour, when she didn’t refer to the Berlin Wall by its official East German propaganda term ‘antifascist protection barrier.’On my tours, I am always happy to share personal family stories about what it was like growing up in such an exciting and ever-changing city. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from the University of Potsdam and a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Viadrina Frankfurt/Oder.When I’m not guiding, I work as a journalist at one of Berlin’s biggest radio stations or spend time with my wife and son. I have also lived in New York City and in Brussels, where I worked at the Goethe-Institut and the European Parliament, respectively. I speak fluent English with hardly any accent. I am a member of the Berlin Guides Association. I am looking forward to showing you around this amazing city – on and off the beaten track – and to sharing its fascinating anecdotes, stories, and secrets! I am also a big fan of Potsdam, and am always happy to take people there as well!

Born and raised in Australia, I studied psychology at the University of Queensland but had always loved reading modern history books. I came to Berlin for a nerdy history vacation in 2017, fell in love with the city and decided to make it home. I offer tours of Berlin and its surrounds which are rich with history and packed with energy. I don’t just show my guests Berlin's sights; I also explain the history behind them in an accessible and engaging way and help my guests to connect with the city’s spirit and uncover its real soul. Not sure what to do in Berlin? In addition to my Tips on Trip101, you can find lots of ideas on my Instagram. Every Thursday I post a highlight Story called "Tina's Tips" where I suggest events in Berlin for the coming week, like comedy, live music, gallery tours, dance parties etc.

Phenomenal ballrooms and popular conference rooms

phenomenal ballrooms and popular conference rooms

During my stay at the Titanic Chaussee Berlin, there was a special occasion being hosted in one of the ballrooms and I had to sneak a peek to show you how one of the rooms was looking in preparation for the event. Whilst it is only partially prepared, you can tell that the room is enormous and the décor in respect to the carpet and the high ceiling is gorgeous, classic and and most inviting. Imagine what this would look like when fully ready for an event? Titanic Chaussee Berlin can host events for up to 1,500 people contingent on the ballroom available. It also has 7 modern conference rooms that are located on the first floor and are next to the Alesta Restaurant, which can also be hired out for events. For special occasions and corporate events and meetings, Titanic Chaussee Berlin is the perfect place to be when in Berlin.

First class gym and spa facilities within the hotel

first class gym and spa facilities within the hotel

As a frequent user of the gym whether in London or abroad, I am familiar with trying and testing different fitness centres and I have to say that the best fitness centre that I have ever experienced is at Titanic Chaussee Berlin. The fitness centre is two floors. The majority of the equipment on-site is from Technogym and is of exceptional quality for those that take an active interest in their health. Kettlebells, soft boxes for jumping, work stations with gymnastic rings and whatever else it may be that you need, will be there. If you’re interested in participating in a workout class such as yoga or pilates, then these are also available through the week. In addition, there is a spa on-site which offers a swimming pool, hamam, sauna, steam baths and various treatments. Access to the gym and spa areas costs a total of 12 EUR (13 USD) per day.

Stunning and comfortable rooms to enjoy

stunning and comfortable rooms to enjoy

There are various categories of rooms within the hotel; however, all are very clean, visually pleasing and have smart and contemporary designs. The bed sheets are of an excellent quality and the mattress is very comfortable. There is also a wonderful reading chair with a very good reading light next to it (which is surprisingly not always the case). The colour schemes of the rooms are bright and warm and the bathrooms are luxurious and glistening with white tiles and marble. The shower cubicle is enormous and includes a powerful rain shower that makes showering here a joy; you may find yourself in the bathroom for much longer than necessary, just so that you can enjoy this sensational area! It should be noted that there is also complimentary Wi-Fi in the rooms as well as in all other communal areas of the hotel.

The number one place to stay in Berlin

Whilst the Titanic Chaussee Berlin is only a four star hotel, you will definitely feel like you are in a five star hotel due to the interior, amenities and faultless service offered by all staff on-site. I have to recommend that you visit this incredible establishment and choose to stay here during your time in Berlin. I was highly impressed during my experience and I am confident that you will be too. The prices for a stay at this phenomenal hotel vary and are contingent on the type of room, date and time in which you would like to visit. You are advised to contact the hotel directly and enquire about the rates. There is nowhere else in Berlin that I stay and I do hope that you consider booking a stay at the Titanic Chaussee Berlin too.
