For five decades since its opening in 1927, it was considered the largest independent hotel in New England and eighth largest hotel in the world. All but two of past U.S presidents had stayed at the prestigious hotel on different occasions. Places of interest near the Boston Park Plaza include the Boston duck tours, the Arlington Street Church, Boston Public Garden, and the Bites of Boston Food Tours.
