The Chateau d'Amboise in Amboise, France is a stunning building located on the banks of the River Loire. The chateau has a long history dealing with several monarchs and noblemen. It was confiscated by the monarchy is the 15th century. King Charles VIII died at this castle in 1498 after hitting his head on a door lintel. During the second half of the 16th century, the chateau went into a state of disrepair, and some of the interiors were demolished. In 1840, the French government recognized the chateau as an official historical monument. As a guest of King Francis, Leonardo da Vinci came to the castles in 1515. He was allegedly buried in the Chapel of St. Hubert, which is an adjoining structure of the chateau. The chateau is definitely worth a visit.
