The Château du Rivau is a castle-palace in Lémeré, in the Touraine region of France with a long and remarkable history. Towards the end of the Hundred Years War before the siege of Orleans, Joan of Arc came to fetch horses in this chateau, which was known then for its superior horse breeding. Several French monarchs would eventually get their royal stallions there. In 1992, the owners launched a huge project to restore and renovate the Château du Rivau. Currently, there are exhibitions detailing stories of mythical horses and their legends. Book a stay at one of these hotels and vacation rentals near the Château du Rivau.
