The body of water where the Pacific Ocean meets the shores of Vancouver is called English Bay and English Bay Beach. Found along Beach Ave, it is widely considered one of Vancouver’s top 5 beaches. There’s a huge Inuit sculpture and panoramic views of the ocean here. This is also where the city’s popular, annual Polar Bear Swim happens. Here, you can also catch the Celebration of Light, which is a fireworks festival. There are also loads of places where you can grab some refreshments here. Expect coffee shops, wonderful restaurants and ice cream found nearby. For a day of fun-filled activities or an evening of scenic strolls, stay close to the action at English Bay.
