The Gem Theatre, located in the Detroit area, is a performing arts center dedicated to keeping the performing arts scene alive. The building itself is a 1903 building with amazing décor and architecture. Performances held here include off Broadway shows and live comedy shows. The Detroit Opera House is found a block away. While they put on all types of shows, they focus on dramatic opera of the time period. This definitely makes for a fun night out, so be sure to check their website for upcoming shows. For a bite to eat before or after a show, visitors can try the Detroit Beer Co. They have many different types of beer that is brewed daily with a menu that resembles pub food. For a restaurant with more elegant food, visitors can try Vicente's—a Cuban restaurant found two blocks away from the Gem Theatre. In the area, there is also a 50 foot Ferris wheel for anyone who’d want to see the area from up high. Keep on reading for some nice hotels and vacation rentals near Gem Theatre.
