The Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a large, teaching hospital located on the north-east edge of the city, next to the Glasgow Cathedral. The original hospital was built in the 1790’s but was almost entirely rebuilt in 1924. Many parts of the old Bishop’s Castle still remain. Near to the Royal Infirmary are many historical sites and ancient places worth visiting. The Glasgow Cathedral has been a central place of worship for over 800 years and boasts one of the largest collections of post-war stained glass collections in the UK.
