Originally called the Stoneham Museum, Kitale Museum was the first domestic museum to open in Kenya. The museum first opened its doors in 1924, but it has grown to house one of the largest collections of traditional Kenyan cultural artefacts. The museum also features a beautiful nature trail, which allows visitors to see various plants and animal species endemic to Kenya. Afterwards, you can visit Treasures of Africa, another wonderful museum which showcases the private collection of one Mr. Wilson. The Treasures of Africa features exhibitions which posit that a universal agricultural culture predates even the last ice age - quite an interesting thing to think about!
