The Lao National Museum is located in Vientiane, Laos. The museum highlights the country’s struggle to free itself from foreign occupiers, placing particular importance on the nation’s revolution in the 1970s. A 1925 French colonial building houses the museum, which was the former home of the French governor. The museum is perfectly located, making it easy to explore other Vientiane attractions. Head to the stunning Pha That Luang: a Buddhist pagoda gilded in gold. To learn more about the history of Laos, stop by the Patuxay Monument, which is dedicated to the people that helped free Laos from French rule. And when taking in all that history has your tummy rumbling, head to the Khop Chai Deu Restaurant: a popular restaurant serving Laotian food. We’ve put together a list of accommodations near the Lao National Museum, so read on to check out your options.
