The Sea Dogs are a minor league baseball team (an affiliate of the Red Sox) who play at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine; the field is named after a former baseball coach at the local high school, Edson Hadlock, Jr., and was built in 1994. The Sea Dogs pride themselves on being connected to their community, and being active members. They’ve been involved with local hospitals, organizations, and educational programs. Fun fact, whenever the Sea Dogs win, or whenever a Sea Dog hits a home run, a lighthouse pops up from the centerfield fence! Next to the field is the football stadium, Fitzpatrick Stadium; and nearby is a city park called Deering Oaks Park, a trail that goes along Back Cove called Bayside Trail. You may also consider visiting the campus of the University of Southern Maine. If you’re in town, you may want to stay in a hotel or vacation rental near Hadlock Field, so here’s a compilation of choices for you to check out.
