Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighbourhood is home to the historic Volunteer Park, purchased by the city in 1876.

While ambling through the park, make sure to stop by the Volunteer Park Conservatory. This building is a Victorian style greenhouse featuring plants endemic to the area, as well as more exotic, rare species. Take your family to the dedicated play area and allow the children the chance to roam, while giving the adults a chance to relax. Or perhaps the adults can play as well!

If you’re in the area, don’t miss the Seattle Asian Art Museum, set in an art deco building from the 1930s that is also located in the park.

Just a further three blocks away from the park is the Volunteer Park Cafe, which serves American comfort food. Continue reading to learn more about hotel and vacation rental options near Volunteer Park.
