What better way to experience a camper adventure than to hop into the Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine, the main transportation of Mystery Incorporated. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the live-action Scooby-Doo film, Airbnb and Warner Bros. Consumer Products teamed up to tug the iconic Mystery Machine out of retirement and offer fans the sinister thrills for a night. The legendary vehicle has been set up and parked on the vibrant Malibu coast in Southern California. Lucky fans get to be whisked away to the year 2002 and live the van-life o their dreams!
About the stay
Airbnb adds a fun dash of mystery and spooks to your summer by firing up the engine of the Mystery Machine. The iconic van will be open to three pairs of travelers for three one-night stays on June 24, 25, and 26. In line with the live-action film’s 20th-year celebration, the booking for the individual stays is offered at just 20 USD per night, exclusive of taxes and fees.
Actor Matthew Lillard, who starred as Shaggy in the movie, will serve as host of the van and will virtually greet guests upon arrival. There will be loads of Scooby-approved snacks on hand to enjoy and a Shaggy and Scooby-inspired menu for dinner. You’ll also find plenty of games to demonstrate your mystery-solving skills.
Any throwback to 2002 wouldn’t be complete without a portable CD player, a retro TV to re-watch the film, and a lava lamp on the scene, so the van is equipped with these items for a full-circle experience. To allow guests to savor Malibu’s stunning mountain and ocean views, an outdoor setup with lounge seating and a hammock is also made available.
