At Spa Resort Hawaiians there are many onsen baths here but not only is the large bath house using hot spring water, the guest rooms and even the pool use the Iwaki Yumoto hot spring as its source! Among the most recommended is “Yoichi” which has a very Edo period atmosphere. There are gifts such as a chic name plate carved out of wood for your house entrance, as well as nostalgic toys and assorted goods lining the shop displays. This Yoichi’s large outdoor bath is built with Edo period style white walls and black painted rafters, and flooring built with antique wood. You can even see a shadow puppet show here! Oh and don’t miss out on the seasonal steamed herb bath!

Gain some courage from the smiling hula girls

It isn’t a stretch to say the main attraction here is the hula girl show which has even been made into a movie.

Seeing the smiles and passion they showed during their nationwide tour to support the reconstruction of the earthquake damage is truly moving. The bright and never ending smiles are genuine as they come!

There are 2 shows a day that give you courage and hope. The stage side seats in the all-weather dome cost some money but it is worth it because you can take pictures with the girls after the show! Of course you can enjoy the hula dancing and fire dance shows from the free seats just as well!

There is also a chance to stand on the stage and dance with the girls as well, no point in just watching hop on the stage and dance!

The one and only Hula Museum

Of course everyone knows what hula dancing is and that it is Hawaiian but here at Spa Resort Hawaiians there is a Hula Museum which explains in detail the culture and history behind it.

There are displays here of the movie, the history behind Spa Resort Hawaiians and the history of the coal mining operations as well as the predecessor Jyoban Hawaiians. Also on display are the musical instruments that you can actually play and hold.

This place is full of everything hula related!

There are many gifts that can only be bought here!

At the gift shop in the hotel there are many gifts that can only be bought here! A fire stick that small enough for kids to spin that the kids will surely want to try after seeing that spectacular show. Also there are original cookies, hula outfits for both the kids and parents and many others. There is also a photo studio where you can get dressed up in hula gear and take mementos of this great family vacation!
