Quiet Waters Park is a 430-acre (170-ha) natural oasis with attractions for the entire family. The park is famous for its annual Renaissance Festival and is home to multiple lakes that are popular for boating and fishing. The Ski Rixen cable water skiing club is another main attraction. There is also a man-made beach, the Splash Adventure Water Park for your kids, bike trails, a skate park, and around 30 campsites for setting up a teepee and sleeping under the stars.

Go and enjoy a free guided tour of the Butler house, which was the home of early Deerfield pioneers James D. and Alice Butler. The house was built in the Mediterranean style in 1923, when the place was more rural and agricultural than it is at present, and it cost 10,000 USD to build. The architecture of the Butler House reminds us of a seaside Italian villa and the house has been restored completely. In 1977, it became the permanent home of the Deerfield Beach Historical Society. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

12. Check out olden-day trains at South Florida Railway Museum
The South Florida Railway Museum is located in the historic Seaboard Air Line Railway Station, which was built in 1926. The building has a Mediterranean style architecture, having an arched entryway, barrel tile roof, and stucco walls, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The museum is in what was once a freight storage room. In it, there are two layouts (N Scale and HO Scale) on display, collections of apparel, tools, bells, whistles, literature, and other things from 1926 to present. It is a self-guided experience in the museum, but you are sure to find some things that will intrigue you.

A local favorite for more than 30 years, the Whale’s Rib is famous for its “whale fries” and other seafood specialties. 15. Catch glimpses of wildlife in the unspoiled Deerfield Island Park
Situated on the Intracoastal Waterway at Hillsboro Boulevard, the Deerfield Island Park is a 53.3-acre (21.5-hectare) nature-oriented refuge full of regional history, flora, and fauna. The place is open only on weekends and you can reach the park only by boat. You can catch free boat services from the mainland. At the park, there is a boat dock, butterfly garden, marina, nature trail, picnic area, mangrove swamps, and there are shelters, rooms, and boats available for rent. Most of the island is shaded, so you can easily find places to relax. But if you are more energetic, you can circle the island on a kayak. The animals here include raccoons, squirrels, armadillos, manatees, and gopher tortoises. The island is also a good place for bird watching.

16. Stroll around Deerfield Beach Arboretum
The Arboretum or the “tree zoo” is where you can check out more than 200 exotic trees from around the world displayed along a walking path. The half-mile-long path is also accessible by wheelchair. There are free tours available every Friday and the first Saturday of the month. There is also a special tour, which requires you to pay a small donation. There are hundreds of varieties of plants, flowers, and trees to see and you can also buy plants from their nursery. They have also installed a number of informative plaques around the place, so you can learn about the things you’re seeing.

17. Have a water-ski adventure with Ski Rixen
Ski Rixen is originally from Europe, but it has been operating in the US since 1983. At its park in Deerfield Beach, you can do boat-less waterskiing and other fun activities. That means you won’t be pulled by a loud and environmentally unfriendly boat, but by a system of powered cables. There is also kneeboarding, wakeboarding, slalom skiing, and you can even surf without a wave. They also give lessons to newbies and options for little ones.
