1. Royal Palm Beach Commons Park


A beautiful, always sunny piece of Florida that encompasses a large area. There are many gazebos around the Commons Park, as well as a number of interesting playgrounds for the kids. The park’s facilities have been labelled some of the cleanest anyone’s ever seen. Commons Park even comes equipped with a driving range and a dog’s park.

Commons Park is open daily from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. There is also a cafe within that is open from 11.00 am to 8.00 pm on weekdays, and 9.00 am to 9.00 pm on weekends.

2. Downtown West Palm Beach

This place is constantly bustling, yet there is always time to step back and admire its beauty. 3. Calypso Bay Water Park

Who can ever say no to a water park? Calypso Bay’s very own water park comes with a lazy river, a lily pad walk, a lap pool complete with diving boards, and a fully-equipped concession stand. Daily admission for adults will cost 10.60 USD at most per person, and kids below one enter for free.

4. McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is the best attraction on West Palm Beach. The sanctuary has rescued wildlife creatures from many compromising situations. These animals are treated in their very own recovery room and clinic. Orphaned animals are placed under the care of their rehabilitation unit. There wildlife programs consist of 9 animals, which include the Scarlet Macaw and a Florida Panther.

A reservation is required to visit the sanctuary, so do call and make an appointment. Tours are available on Tuesdays to Saturdays at 11.00 am, 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm.

5. Norton Museum of Art

This art museum has been around since 1941, and is one of the prominent cultural institutions in Florida. The Norton Museum of Art features permanent collections of Photography, American Art, Chinese Art, European Art and Contemporary Art. Paintings and sculptures from the 19th-century can be found within its walls, including those by Pollock, Matisse, Picasso, Hassam and Monet.

Admission is free to everyone, but do note that the museum is closed on Mondays and select public holidays.

6. Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area



If you’re a nature junkie, you’ll surely love this place. This wetland wonderland was purchased with the use of voter approved funds, which was an essential move to conserve lands that were environmentally sensitive. Bird watching is a fun thing to do, especially when you have unique winged creatures in the air - imagine spotting a Florida sandhill crane or a red-shouldered hawk. The area also has a dome swamp, a hydric hammock and five hiking trails that are waiting to be explored.

7. Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society

The Palm Beach Zoo has a line of animals from the tropics, Asia, the islands and Florida itself that are waiting to meet you. The conservation society’s primary role is to conserve via the propagation of endangered species, supporting other forms of conservation initiatives and educating the public on the same. Special events are held from time to time, so do check their website out and make a reservation before you drop by. You might just end up in the very same room as an anteater, capybara or sloth!
