Convenience is the name of the game at Best Western Hotel Piemontese located just across from the train station in Bergamo, Italy. Featuring several room styles and optional cots for babies and children, visitors coming to Bergamo while in-transit or for vacation will enjoy a stay here. Continue reading to learn why I recommend this hotel for short stays.

Comfortable rooms

Double room

After a speedy check-in at the Best Western Hotel Piemontese, the two elevators located in the lobby make for an easy assent to any of the hotel rooms. As we were using this hotel as a jumping off point to reach the Orio al Serio International Airport (Bergamo’s airport) for travels further afield, we opted to stay in the most basic room option, the double room. Double rooms at Best Western Hotel Piemontese are 20 sq m (215 sq ft) and include a desk, television, two bedside tables, and a large TV. The room is decorated with bright colors and furnishings and came complete with a large bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower. The rooms also have air-conditioning, which is essential in Italy’s heat. The room we stayed in also featured a small entryway area, which was a convenient place to store luggage.

Do note that even though the Best Western Hotel Piemontese is just across the street from the train station, the rooms are quiet, allowing for a peaceful evening.

Good amenities

Breakfast area and lounge

Best Western Hotel Piemontese is equipped with free Wi-Fi access throughout the building and the Internet speed was relatively fast for Italy. Though not included in the base room rate, the hotel also offers a buffet breakfast in its spacious dining and lounge area. The breakfast consists of hot and cold breakfast items including cereals, yogurt, fruit, bread, pastries, eggs, meats, and coffee. You can also request espresso-based coffee drinks from the friendly staff.

The hotel also features an Italian restaurant and café that is open to the public. This spot was packed in the morning with locals and visitors dining on pastries and coffee in both indoor and outdoor seating.

Convenient location

Near the Natural History Museum and train station

In addition to being ideal for train travel, Best Western Hotel Piemontese provides easy access to Orio al Serio International Airport via the Airport Shuttle (bus A1) located opposite the train station. The shuttle leaves every 20 minutes from this spot and reaches the airport within 15 minutes. Tickets for the shuttle cost 2.30 EUR (2.70 USD) for adults, and children under 1 meter (3.28 ft) tall ride for free.

If you plan to explore Bergamo further, the same bus (but going in the other direction) will take you to city center, funicular, and the historic upper city of Bergamo. Notable sites in Bergamo include Piazza Vecchia, Santa Maria Maggiore, Mura Venete, and the family-friendly Natural History Museum.

Enjoy your stay at Best Western Hotel Piemontese

Best Western Hotel Piemontese in Bergamo, Italy provides a convenient, comfortable accommodation for small families, couples, and solo travelers seeking easy access to both the historic Upper Town and transit options to reach destinations further afield. Room rates begin at approximately 85.50 EUR (~100.26 USD), which also makes this a budget-friendly option in Bergamo.
