Rain or shine, remote Whitby is a glorious place to camp out. The town has several attractions that remind visitors of events in Bram Stoker’s classic Gothic horror novel, “Dracula.” This coastal town in North Yorkshire has cobbled paths, quirky attractions, and delightful seascapes. It is particularly popular for its 7th-century abbey on East Cliff that overlooks visitors and locals alike. Whitby’s non-fictional history is graced by several prominent figures, including Oswiu, the king of the medieval kingdom of Northumbria, Caedmon, the first Old English Christian poet, Captain James Cook, and formidable whaling captains of the North Sea. Spend an unforgettable holiday in a town with an interesting fictional and non-fictional history. Check out the top campgrounds in Whitby, UK.
