1. Christmas Market of Saint Lucia (Fira de Santa Llúcia)
Fira de Santa Llúcia is the city’s largest Christmas market and is located at Cathedral of Barcelona in the city’s Gothic Quarter. Stalls surround the decorated square, offering traditional local handicrafts, jewelry, knitwear, sweets and treats, traditional cured ham, and other options for purchase. This year will see the 233rd anniversary of the historic market, which was first opened in 1786. A huge nativity scene is set to be placed a few steps away from the venue at Frederic Marès Museum.

2. Sagrada Família Christmas Market (Fira de Nadal de la Sagrada Família)
Fira de Nadal de la Sagrada Família has been held each year since 1960. It is an open-air market in front of the famous Sagrada Família temple, with hundreds of stalls selling Christmas trees, decorations, figurines for a traditional nativity scene, gifts, toys, crafts, and a range of traditional food. Children will particularly enjoy the market on December 21 and 22, when Santa Claus comes to visit, allowing for that perfect Christmas selfie!

3. Christmas Market of Gran Via (La Feria de Reyes de la Gran Via)
The Christmas Market of Gran Via, or Twelfth Night Fair, is also known as La Feria de Reyes de la Gran Via—or Sant Tomàs i Reis (Saint Thomas and Kings). Whatever you name it, the market is among the largest Christmas and New Year markets in Barcelona. This venue is the ideal place to buy a range of delightful gifts, Christmas decorations, nativity scenes, toys, handicrafts, traditional food, and more. The more than 300 stalls offer traditional Spanish “Reyes” gifts as well, such as carbon de azucar (candy coal). The toy section of this Christmas market can be found close to Plaza Catalunya.

4. Christmas Market at Pedralbes Monastery (Mercat de Nadal de Pedralbes)
The Christmas Market at Pedralbes Monastery is held for one day each year. While there are stalls to browse, the main event is to enjoy a guided visit to the monastery and listen to the beautiful music of the Christmas carols performed there. From mid-December until February, an elaborate and beautiful nativity scene is set up at the monastery; and on the Saturday prior to Christmas, family activities are offered here.

Espinelves Fir Tree Fair is the place to go for the perfect Christmas tree. 7. Caldes de Montbui Christmas Market
Caldes de Montbui is famous not only for its thermal baths but also for a Christmas fair, which is held on the first weekend in December. Thousands of visitors flock to the town for the event, which includes 150 stalls selling Christmas gifts, arts and crafts, and traditional local food—including a special broth cooked with thermal water over a wood fire in the largest pot in Catalonia, which is 1.5 meters (5 feet) in diameter. There is a food kitchen on wheels offering tasty fare too, and a number of family activities can be enjoyed among the narrow alleyways of the town.

Sant Vicenç de Torelló throws a Christmas fair each year at the end of November.
