If you are looking for a new adventure, I would recommend a trip to Detroit, a unique city with a juxtaposition between ruins and rebirth. Finding the perfect, comfortable place to stay in an unfamiliar city can be challenging. This is why I would recommend a stay at Joe’s sophisticated Airbnb for a luxury home experience during your trip to Detroit. Joe’s place has an artistic vibe and offers guests the opportunity to stay in Midtown, an awesome location with very few hotels and tourists. I would highly recommend Joe’s Airbnb, the perfect spot to make you feel a part of the vast growth spreading throughout Detroit.

Joe’s Airbnb takes style and class to the next level with an antique touch. The spacious apartment is the perfect accommodation for a getaway to one of the up and coming streets of Midtown Detroit. With reasonable prices (approximately 125 USD per night and a 50 USD cleaning fee), Joe’s apartment, comfortable for two, offers the homey feel of a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Natural light pours through the large windows that surround each room, brightening the antique furniture and decorations; large trees outside the windows cast dancing shadows on the crisply painted walls. Classic novels, vintage artwork, and a sound system that plays anything from old school Motown records to bluetooth audio are several of the most appealing features of Joe’s fully stocked crib. Joe’s apartment is perfect for a romantic getaway, a girls’ weekend, or a personal work retreat.

The style of Joe’s cozy apartment is the perfect blend of modern and vintage. A Playboy skateboard in the bathroom; a cork wall in the living room; a 1980s Stockholm design exhibit poster next to the bed; an antique wooden bench underneath the bedroom window; all complemented by comfortable furniture and modern-style kitchen-ware. There is plenty of closet space to store your belongings while simultaneously maintaining balance. If you are interested in Joe’s impeccable taste, his lifestyle store around the corner, Hugh, offers a wide variety of equally sharp decorations, gifts, and knick-knacks, some of which are the same as those featured in his humble abode.

Getting from here to there: transportation, parking & more

Detroit’s public transportation system was under reconstruction during my stay, but Joe’s place is located 20 to 30 minutes from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. A stay at Joe’s spot includes free street parking, or for an additional fee of 10 USD per night you will have access to gated parking. To explore Detroit, Joe’s Airbnb is centrally located and most of Detroit’s must-see spots are less than a 30-minute walk away. There are also several bus stops only a few blocks from Joe’s spot, which, for only 1.75 USD, can take you to different locations around Detroit, including downtown. If you prefer to grab a ride, Uber and Lyft rides are also widely available in Detroit. If you are contemplating the best time of year to visit Detroit, my trip was in early March, but I would recommend visiting between March and November if you would like to avoid the Mid-West sub-zero winter chill.

Hugh is not the only awesome perk of staying at Joe’s spot. Just a few feet away you can grab an affordable delicious breakfast at Zef’s and a laid-back beer at the Old Miami local dive bar. The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company is a perfect spot for enjoying high quality Costa Rican coffee, a bite to eat, and good conversation. The menu has everything from ricotta waffles to avocado and egg breakfast sandwiches. The spacious shop with a variety of seating arrangements, accommodating anywhere from duos to larger groups, is accompanied by relaxing music, unique artwork, and bright natural lighting. While you are in Detroit, I would also recommend checking out the Detroit Institute of Art Museum, where you can get lost in centuries of art work, and the Eastern Market, where you can find plenty of local produce and handmade goods.

You'll find comfort, style, and class At Joe's Airbnb

If you are looking to stay in style during your getaway to Detroit, Joe’s apartment will add a vintage flair to your visit. The apartment has plenty of space, large windows, and an outdoor deck, offering guests the luxury of fresh air and wonderful natural lighting. In a great central location, the apartment is close to many cool restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Joe’s place is also ten to twenty minutes’ drive away from the Detroit Institute of Art, the Eastern Market, and historic downtown Detroit. My stay at Joe’s was refreshing and enjoyable as I imagine yours will be too!
