There is only one place in the world where everyone can become a child no matter their age. Disneyland: the happiest place on Earth! There are seven Disneyland Parks in the world: three in USA (Hawaii, California and Florida), one in Europe (in Paris) and three in Asia (Hong Kong, China and Japan). However, Disneyland in Anaheim, California is the first and original park since it was designed and built under the supervision of Walt Disney. It opened on July 17, 1955. When you visit this park you will feel that there is something magical about it. A sculpture of Walt Disney holding his son, Mickey Mouse, welcomes you and seems to be telling you: “welcome to my magical place, have fun”. This statue sets the tone for your whole trip – it will be fun! Plan your visit early as it is always crowded, and make sure you stay until night to see the parade and the fireworks show.

There are various tickets available for the park. A one day ticket costs 93 USD for kids from 3-9 years old and 99 USD for ages from 10 years old and up. No ticket is needed for children younger than 3 years. There are also multi-day tickets available. The tickets should be booked directly from Disneyland’s official site a couple of days in advance. Parking costs 18 USD per day.

Walk and shop on Main Street

Main Street welcomes you and introduces you to the town of Disney. You will see train tracks, a train station, the town square, a movie theater, city hall, a firehouse and many cute little shops, candy stores, a jewelers and watch shop, a gas station, a store that sells Disney collectible items created by various artists, and a hat shop where you have the option of creating your own Mickey or Minnie Mouse ear hat. There is so much to do and see along Main Street! Continuing along Main Street you will reach the wonderful Sleeping Beauty Castle, which is actually the main entrance to Disneyland.

Enjoy the rides at Disneyland

Disneyland Park is a place where you will definitely have fun, whether you have kids or not. Plan to arrive early in the morning so you have time to visit all the magical lands of Disney and enjoy the rides. Upon entering you will walk down the Main Street and then you will get lost in Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Mickey’s Toontown; each of them offering themed rides. Lines for the popular rides are huge, so you may want to consider getting a fastpass. The Disney Fastpass allows you to skip the lines and it is distributed at the entrance of an attraction. The Fastpass service is available on a first-come, first-served basis for same-day use. When you enter Disneyland you will want to try as many rides as possible; however, if you visit for only one day, this is impossible. Don’t miss Big Thunder, Mountain Railroad, Star Tours and Haunted Mansion.

Enter the exotic Adventureland

Entering Adventureland will feel like being in an exotic jungle in Asia or Africa. You will be fascinated by the wooden buildings, the forests, and the pirate boat taking you on a cruise along the river. The main attractions are the Jungle Cruise, the “Temple of the Forbidden Eye” from Indiana Jones, and Tarzan’s Treehouse.

Great adventures at Frontierland

Frontierland describes life on the rivers of America. Definitely the unmissable experience on this section of the park is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which is a fun rollercoaster that takes your breath away. If you have enough time try the Mark Twain Riverboat, which is a 12 minute journey around a scenic river.

Dream on at Fantasyland

Fantasyland is the definition of Disneyland. Its beauty and charm is summed up in the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. Visitors can enter the castle and see the full story of Sleeping Beauty. This land has mostly kid-friendly and family-oriented attractions.

Face the future at Tomorrowland

In this section of the park you travel to the future. It is not as cute, charming and lovely as the other sections, but it is definitely one of the most interesting. Rides are quite amazing and seem to be very futuristic. The famous Space Mountain is worth the wait, and do not miss Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. In the ride you embark on a spaceflight via 3D flight glasses, so you feel the flight with all your senses. It is really fun and unique!

See Mickey at Mickey's Toontown

Mickey’s Toontown is Mickey Mouse’s universe. It is really something one should see because you feel like you entered into a world of cartoons. Everything is so surreal and so cartoonish and colorful! Do not expect any breathtaking attractions here, like roller coasters, but you will stroll around and relax. If you have small kids they will really appreciate it. Here you find Mickey and Minnie. You can actually pay them a visit at their homes, getting to know them better through historic videos and at last you meet them in person and you can take a picture with them. Definitely the most amazing souvenir of Disneyland!

Disneyland, California: adventure awaits!

Disneyland in California is the oldest and most charming Disney Park in the world. You will feel enchanted right when you enter and see Walt Disney’s statue holding Mickey Mouse’s hand. A day is maybe not enough to see all the sections of the park and the hundreds of adventures and attractions it offers. Be sure you get there early and leave late so you don’t miss the Parade of Disney heroes at 5 o'clock and the fascinating fireworks show late at night. You will remember this visit for a long time and you will have a smile on your face everytime you think about it.
