Mai Chau Ecolodge is located in perhaps one of the most serene and picturesque places in Vietnam. Mai Chau is in a low valley, surrounded by bamboo jungle mountains, covered in sprawling rice paddies, and dotted with local villages. If you are reading this and want to escape to Mai Chau right away, be sure to book your stay at Mai Chau Ecolodge. Tucked at the base of a mountain and on the edge of rice paddy fields, Mai Chau Ecolodge is a 4-star paradise in Mai Chau. It’s quiet, relaxing, beautiful, and run by passionate local staff who strive to make your holiday the best it can be.

Stilt house-style bungalows are your private oasis

There are a total of forty-five rooms at Mai Chau Ecolodge. The rooms have gorgeous garden, mountain, rice paddy, or valley views. In order to enjoy the view, each room has a private patio with rocking chairs or hammocks. All rooms have complimentary rice wine, fruit, and two bottles of water. A minibar has more water, tea, coffee and snacks for an extra fee.

The Mai Chau Ecolodge is a beautiful resort; it is so unique because the rooms and the grounds are designed in a local style, which makes you feel like a part of Mai Chau. The rooms are bungalows built to mimic the style of local stilt houses. Stilt houses, and therefore the bungalows at the Ecolodge, are made from timber and bamboo. The decor of the room is simple but colorful. The bright colors are the same bright colors local women use to make scarves and clothes on their looms.

The price of rooms varies depending on what room you are staying in. For accurate pricing per room and for the time of year you are visiting, check the Mai Chau Ecolodge website.

The in-house restaurant serves flavorful Vietnamese cuisine

Located on the second floor of the main building, above reception, the in-house restaurant has a large menu featuring Vietnamese cuisine. There is something for everyone whether you are a vegetarian, a picky eater, enjoy seafood, or want to try a new-to-you Vietnamese dish. There is a small international section of the menu but, frankly, the Vietnamese food is so delightful you’d be missing out if you didn’t order it! The honey beef or the salt and pepper prawns are fabulous options. Breakfast is a complimentary buffet with a made-to-order crepe and omelette station, coffee, tea, juice, and local and Western options.

The service at the restaurant is impeccable. The local staff is always nearby to check on you or bring you anything you needed. All the staff at Mai Chau Ecolodge are locals that are trained in hospitality and tourism in order to work at the Ecolodge. Their English is very good; however, if they don’t know what something means, or don’t understand, they strive to figure it out in order to give you the best service.
