Spread over four floors of iconic beauty, ESPA Life at Corinthia London is a pioneer in the new concepts of spas. Bringing together a team of the world’s top experts, they offer a fully integrated approach to wellbeing. Spa, beauty treatments, fitness, alternative therapies, and a hair salon are brought together in one luxurious destination.

The next generation of spa

Pool area

With over 450 spas in 50 countries, the ESPA company was founded in 1993 by Susan Harmsworth. ESPA Life at London’s five-star Corinthia Hotel is home to the largest urban integrated spa in the capital city. The other ESPA Life in the UK is located in Gleneagles, Scotland. The luxury experience spa had integrated a holistic and wellness approach with its collective amenities. The goal of ESPA Life is to amalgamate all aspects of health and wellness; from physical therapies to mindful therapies, sleep sessions to fitness sessions, and from breathing techniques to meditation techniques. The spa has also introduced ‘Brain Power’ packages to help build performance and resilience of the guests along with a neuroscientist-in-residence program.

The Corinthia Hotel

Relaxation area

The Corinthia Hotel is located on Whitehall Place, steps away from the River Thames, near the Embankment tube station and the Horse Guards. The spa covers an impressive four floors of the hotel with over 3,300 m² (35,520 ft²) of luxury space. The reception area is on the mezzanine level of the hotel and the spa continues down two levels below ground. The recurring design features are shiny, curvy, elegant, and opulent. Italian marble and lacquered walls with wires pulled through them reflect the flow of energy and create a wave effect throughout the floors.

A gateway to luxury and lifestyle

Heated Lounge Chairs

The ideal place to escape reality consists of a labyrinth of 17 treatment pods, steam rooms, thermal pools, saunas, futuristic lounges, sleeping pods, a nail studio, Daniel Galvin hair salon, and state-of-the-art gym facility. The lavish low-lit spa is complete bliss for Londoners and guests who need an escape to destress.

The elegant reception area opens to a small stylish cream-washed restaurant. It is filled with white leather furniture and has a long roaring fireplace as its main focal point. The corridors and stairwell leading up to the luxurious changing rooms are covered with slate paneling of a champagne cream color. The well-stocked changing rooms contain robes, slippers, towels, drinks of flavored water and tea, fruit, body care items, blow dryers, and hair straighteners. Located just outside the changing rooms is a very relaxing dark room filled with ‘Sleeping Pods.’

The thermal floor, the spa’s main area, is a dim-lit black-marbled sanctuary that accommodates a generous steam room, jet pool, heated swimming pool, ice fountain, heated loungers, and a glass-walled sauna amphitheatre as a center piece.

Up one floor from here are the 17 treatments rooms. They offer a variety of treatments including massages, facials, and body wraps given by excellent therapists. Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments, naturopaths, herbalists, acupuncturists, and osteopaths are also available for you.

Intensive detox programs, marathon training, physical fitness programs, fertility treatments, orthopedic rehabilitation, and more are all tailored-made for the client.

The gym, complete with strength machines, Life Fitness cardiovascular machines, and free weights, is located on the same floor as the men’s changing rooms. Private training pods are available for those who desire workouts with a personal trainer. Water, homemade protein balls, and cold towels are available in a fridge located in the area. Guests and members also have fruit and headphones they can help themselves to. Membership to the gym is limited to avoid over-crowding.

Want to leave not only feeling great, but looking great as well? There is also the Margaret Dabbs nail salon and a Daniel Galvin hair salon to get you looking as great as you feel before leaving.

An important note to mention. Children are only permitted to access the spa between 10:00 am – 11:30 am and 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm.

A pioneering new concept

A day at the ESPA Life spa will revitalize any fatigued individual. With endless possibilities of rest and rejuvenation the hardest part of the day will either be paying the hefty price tag that comes with such luxury or the leaving of the spa and heading back into reality.

Access to the spa begins at 150 GBP (184 USD) and a 90-minute wellness massage costs 200 GBP (245.50 USD). Many spa packages are available. A 3-hour personalized treatment costs 450 GBP (552.50 USD) and exclusive use of the Private Spa Suite for 3-hours costs 905 GBP (1,111 USD).
