If you’ve been captivated by the wizarding world of Harry Potter, the Warner Brother’s Studio Tour is the place for you. There’s no denying we are all under the spell of Harry Potter, so what better way to experience the magic then getting up close and personal with original sets and features from the films. The Warner Brother’s Studio is an amazing experience and is definitely worth a visit when in the UK.

Swish and a flick – you have arrived

Located 33 km, approx. 20 mi from North London, the Warner Brothers Studio is easily accessible and offers various transport options. Of course you can drive there – and with free parking, who could say no. But if you’re coming from afar, getting off at Watford Junction from London and taking the Warner Brothers shuttle bus directly to the set is the easiest option. Costing 2.50 GBP, approx. 3.60 USD, you have yourself a bargain!

It is advised to arrive 20 minutes ahead of your time slot as the ques can get quite hefty. I will advise you not to freak out when your bag is searched – it’s for your own safety, not to be nosey.

Admire the Great Hall

One particularly famous set of Harry Potter is the Great Hall. An absolutely stunning design, the Great Hall is home to fantastic feasts, magical gatherings and of course wizard drama. Walking across the original stone floor you will be surrounded by an enchanting atmosphere and original costumes – for true wizard fans this is so incredibly exciting! At the head of the Great Hall, the high table is situated with staff costumes and of course Albus Dumbledore’s great throne.

Throughout different holidays and possibly only for true Harry Potter fans, the Great Hall hosts ‘Hogwarts in the snow’ – a fantastic way to get in the Christmas spirit with various packages, this is the perfect way to experience a magical Christmas in the Great Hall. Prices start at 225 GBP, approx., 324 USD.

Butterbeer and a broomstick ride

Throughout the tour you will be amazed by the vast amount of props and costumes – it’s absolutely mind blowing how intricate the detailing is. If one part of Harry Potter that has truly amazed you it is bound to be the broom sticks! How did they fly? Well, now you can try! Sat in front of a green screen, a broomstick and Hagrid’s sidecar motorcycle are there for you to experience. With a choice of photos, video or USB for you to take home, why wouldn’t you want footage of you flying like the pros.

Once you have worn yourself out from flying, step outside for a refreshing butterbeer. Undeniably delicious, the butterscotch and shortbread flavoured frothy beer is a favourite amongst witches and wizards. Although a little bit sickly, I highly recommend trying it! P.S. It’s non-alcoholic.

Gryffindor dormitories and mixing potions

With a vast list of original sets for you to enjoy, my personal recommendation is to make sure you see the Gryffindor dormitories and Privet Drive. The Gryffindor dormitories are home to original costumes of Ron, Harry and Hermione and really make you feel like you dived into the film!

Buy yourself wizard necessities

Diagon Alley, the Weasleys kitchen, and a replica of Hogwarts are sure to have got you feeling the magic of Harry Potter. From experience, I can say it’s highly likely you will want to return at a later date!

For those of you who want to take some of the magic home, why not spend some time wandering around the gift shop. Full of amazing wizard necessities such as cloaks, owls (not real of course) and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans – you will surely be loosening those purse strings.
