Kikkaso is located in Hakone Miyanoshita. It was built 120 years ago and used to be an imperial villa. The building is classical and with a solid appearance. Visiting such a high-class place is part of the satisfaction of your trip.

Don’t worry even if you can’t afford staying overnight at this luxurious inn. There is a special day trip plan, offered for only 3 pairs of guest between 11 am and 3 pm. You can use a private bath and lunch in a private room. The price is quite affordable and perfect for those who want to experience the luxury of Hakone’s top-class inns. If you arrive a bit early you can take a walk in the garden. As long as the room is ready you will be allowed to enter even before 11 am.

There are only 3 private rooms

Only 3 rooms are available for this special day trip plan. On the photo you see the “Sakuranoma” room. It’s stylish, with a good combination of traditional Japanese and modern elements. From the window you can see the sakura tree that gave the name of this room. In spring you can have lunch while watching the fully blossoming sakura outside.

From “Sakuranoma” and “Ajisainoma” rooms there is a good view towards the inner garden. The scenery changes according to the season: sakura and azaleas in spring, hydrangeas in early summer, autumn colors, and plenty of snow in the winter. There is also a pond and a small waterfall, so book these two rooms if you want to enjoy the view to the garden. After checking in, first change clothes and put on the yukata (light kimono). You can go out and take a walk like this, if the weather is good. The garden is brilliant so you will have the opportunity to discover many different aspects of Hakone’s beauty.

Enter the private baths whenever you like

There are two private baths, a smaller one and a bigger one. Both use hinoki cypress tree for the bathtubs. You can lock from inside the changing room and have the entire bath for yourself. There’s no time limit! Soak in as much as you want!

This hot spring is rich in sodium chloride. This component covers the skin and makes it shine after you get out of the bath! The PH index, often called “beautification index”, is 8.6 so this water is great for its beautification effect. The temperature is 69.4 degrees so cold water is added but without filtration. You will see the effect on your skin the next day! It’s worth visiting Hakone’s hot springs even for a day!

A lunch which looks wonderful and tastes delicious

You will get a traditional Japanese banquet lunch served in small dishes. The taste is simple but delicious and the menu changes every 2 months so you can try different things every time you go. It’s delightful to even look at the dishes. Eating seasonal products is one of the merits of this lunch.

Everything is served in the right timing one by one so you can enjoy the food slowly. It will take you about 1.5-2 hours for the lunch. There are 9 dishes, served in small plates, but you’ll get full when you eat everything. Tell the staff in advance if you can’t eat some particular things.

There are big windows everywhere in Kikkaso so that you can watch the seasonal landscape of the inner garden. This garden is being taken care of every day which makes it beautiful whenever you go.
