If you have been to Bali, it’s likely that you agree with me that Kuta is the most popular area on the island, due to the white sandy beaches that have been famous since it was discovered by surfers many decades ago. Now, it is a popular stop for backpackers travelling around South East Asia. The area is continuously developing with boutique shops, popular cafes and restaurants, along with clubs and bars. Finding a peaceful and luxurious hotel located in the center of Kuta, like Four Points By Sheraton Bali, Kuta , provides a bit of a change of pace from this busy tourist destination.

Convenience in a busy area

Four Points By Sheraton Bali, Kuta is a new 6-floor hotel that opened for business in 2015. It’s a clean and modern-designed hotel, located in the centre of Kuta’s shopping district. Despite a large concentration of tourists, vehicles and businesses, hotel guests can still enjoy a sense of serenity as the hotel is situated on a relatively quiet alley, with much less traffic compared to the main road, Legian Street.

Enjoyable lobby

Staying in a new hotel means you can enjoy up-to-date facilities, including the lobby. As soon as you arrive in the lobby, a bell boy will open your car door for you and carry your luggage to the reception. It’s an open, spacious lobby and its wooden interior and the hanging, woven light shades suspended from the lobby’s ceiling give the lobby an artistic touch.

There are several comfortable sofas for you to cool off on while sipping a cappuccino you’ve ordered from the lobby’s coffee shop, Wrapped. The lobby also provides complimentary international magazines like Times and Reader’s Digest, provided for hotel guests.

Modern room

The hotel has 185 rooms and each has a minimalist design. Rooms are spotlessly clean and all the furniture is in great, new condition.

Amenities include a coffee maker (stocked with coffee, tea, sugar and creamer), safe and LED TV with many international channels.

Each room has a balcony facing the pool, and if you stay on the ground floor you will have lagoon access. The en-suite bathrooms includes a pair of slippers, a hair dryer and some complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and brush kit) for guests. Rates start from IDR 950, 000 (USD 65) for a deluxe pool view room.

Unique pool

The hotel has 3 swimming pools, and the main one, located in the center of the building on the ground floor, is one of the most unique swimming pools I have ever seen. It’s a large and super long swimming pool that stretches from one corner of the building to another. As you can see in the above photo, the pool is surrounded by the hotel, and all room balconies are facing the pool. However, that is only a part of the uniqueness, as there is a heated whirlpool in the middle of the pool!

Rooftop pool and bar

A children’s pool (Junior Pool) is located on the 1st floor, and the hotel also has a rooftop swimming pool, where you will find a hotdog cart (the hotdogs taste as good as they smell!), and a bar, Vertigo, which is open till 9 PM. The rooftop bar and pool provide a lovely panorama over Kuta Beach. It’s great to spend your time here during the sunset while sipping sangria (sweetened wine with fresh fruits).

All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at The Eatery & dinner at Best Brew

Breakfast is included in the rate (room service is available and for light breakfasters, you can opt not to have breakfast included and order from the ala carte menu). Breakfast is served at The Eatery, located by the lagoon pool.

The restaurant prepares many kinds of breakfast items like waffles, pancakes, pastries, cereals and milk, yoghurt, as well as fruits and juices. Don’t miss pisang goreng, which is a sweet, crispy and fragrant fried banana! The pork ribs, bacon, tenderloin, pizza and bolognaise pasta are just a few among so many other heavier items you can eat!

Have your egg cooked the way you want it. Whether you want it poached, scrambled, sunny side up, over easy (my favorite!), or an omelette, simply ask the chef at the egg station to cook it for you.

For dinner, it is an excellent idea to dine at the hotel’s open pub named Best Brew, which is located on the ground floor. They have great steak and wood-fired pizza. Also, check out their happy hour (5 PM – 6 PM), where you can buy one Bintang Beer (the most famous Indonesian beer, which tastes like Heineken) and get one for free!

If you happen to be in the hotel on Sundays, you can watch a live Balinese dance performance, known for its graceful and intricate finger movements.

Kid-friendly

If you are staying at Four Points By Sheraton Bali, Kuta, bringing children along with you doesn’t mean you have to take them wherever you go, or even worse, follow them wherever they go!

This hotel has a big and very nice kids club (on the 1st floor, near the Junior Pool, open daily from 10 AM – 5 PM) with lots of cool toys including puzzles, a ball pit, play kitchen and video games. They also have an LED TV with recent children movies (they may have Moana and Sing pretty soon!)

The hotel has many options for children’s activities every day (extra charges apply), guided by professional and kid-loving attendants. Besides coloring and drawing, your children will get to learn many things including making pizza by attending a PIMP (Papa! I Made Pizza) Cooking Class. Try this hotel when you are in Bali and your only complaint will be that you couldn’t stay longer!
