Well-known in Europe for some of the most dazzling coastlines, Montenegro never ceases to amaze travelers coming here to enjoy the seaside in the Balkans. While visiting the must-see town of Budva, don’t miss out on stopping by Freedom Hostel to stay for few nights and chill. Here are five reasons why every visitor to Montenegro should stay at this excellent quality hostel for low-budget travelers:

Their common space is exemplary

One of the things I love most about Freedom Hostel is their open-air common space on the second floor. It’s possible to find all you need from a hostel’s common lounge - travel guide books, board games, musical instruments, cozy sofas, chairs, and pillows. I even brought my food and ate here instead of dining in the kitchen in order to spend more time socialising with other guests.

Free food and drinks are offered in the kitchen area

There’s a whole section in the fridge with a few food and drinks offered for guests for free. The kitchen is also free for guests to use if they wish to cook on their own. Keep in mind that eating out in restaurants in Montenegro is a bit more expensive than other cities in the Balkan region in general as this is a rather touristic seaside town. You will find, however, great offers on selected seafoods. But, grocery stores do offer food ingredients for more decent prices.

You will be welcomed with extra-special hospitality

Do not be surprised to either be welcomed with a glass of beer by the receptionist or a nice meal by other guests. That does not happen often in hostels in Europe, but here, it’s quite regular. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. They will definitely recommend the must-check places for you not only in Budva, but also places nearby as well as popular destinations within Montenegro.

The dorm beds are cozy

Dorm rooms are equipped with reading lights, private lockers, tables, chairs and air-conditioning that you may use as you wish. Each guest also has their individual keys for the main door, dorm room, and locker. There’s a shower and toilet on each floor, right opposite to the dorm room.

Their open vibe is great

As soon as you walk to the hostel, you will notice the eye-catching open outdoor space they have on the first floor, with tables and chairs on the front yard. There are several vibrant bars right on the doorstep, but the atmosphere is not very loud at night. Smoking inside the rooms is prohibited and quiet hours is in effect between midnight and 8 AM.

Other added benefits

The hostel’s location, right in the middle of Budva’s Old Town, makes it easy for guests to explore all the main attractions, bars and restaurants surrounding it on foot. There are plenty of fast bus connections between Budva and other cities, of which you can check the timetable on Busticket 4. By staying here, you will also get a 10% discount for your next stay in other Balkan Backpacker Hostel in Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Greece and Montenegro. Enjoy the comfort and vibe of Freedom Hostel Budva and have fun exploring this beautiful destination.
