Thailand is a beautiful destination to visit—the only problem is figuring out which beautiful part to explore! If you only have a short time to visit Thailand, you should definitely go to Phuket. It has everything you could want in a vacation. It is a place where you can have great nights out in bars, beach lounges and clubs. But, you can also spend your days on amazing beaches or go on a boat cruise. In all my travels, Phuket is definitely one of my favorite places I have been, so I highly recommend it as a travel destination! Read on for tips on what to do during your visit to Phuket.

Start with a boat cruise to the surrounding islands

Exploring the area around Phi Phi Islands

There are many beautiful places surrounding Phuket that are only accessible by boat. One of them is Phi Phi Islands. The islands became very popular after year 2000 when Leonardo Dicaprio filmed ‘The Beach’ at Maya Bay. There is no shortage of tourists at the islands but it is a place that surely doesn’t disappoint!

There are many tour companies that run from Phuket to the neighboring islands. The cost to go to Phi Phi Islands will cost around 950 THB (~26 USD). This will usually include a lunch at Phi Phi town, touring Maya Bay and time for snorkeling (gears are provided). The surrounding sites are absolutely breathtaking; this is a must-do if you are in Phuket.

The trip will usually last from the early morning until 4:00 PM or so. That leaves you enough time to explore the nightlife in the evening.

Head to Bangla Road for the evening

In the evening, going out on Bangla Road is another must-do when in Phuket. Bangla Road is located in Patong. The best way to get there in the evening is by taxi. If you are traveling from within the main center of Phuket, then the fare will only cost you a few dollars. When I was there, I paid 5.00 USD for my taxi ride, which was about a 20-minute ride.

The atmosphere on Bangla Road is really fun and energizing. With bright lights, loud music and great drinks, this is the place to be at night. Strolling along the street, you will see plenty of different bars and clubs where you can spend your evening. Many of these bars and clubs are open-air, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful weather as well.

Check out Tiger Night Club

If you are looking for a party place to go on Bangla Road, I would definitely recommend Tiger Night Club. The bar is always full of people and the drinks are quite affordable. The bar area is open-air and is decorated like a giant cave with plenty of neon palm trees. It looks fun, colorful and inviting from the outside! The inside of the bar is equally happening. The bar is quite spacious, so make sure you walk towards the back to explore. There are plenty of seats for you to relax and enjoy drinks with your friends.

The bar is one of the first on the right side of Bangla Road if you are entering from the Patong Beach entrance. You can’t miss it! The exact address is 49 Bangla Road.

When to visit Phuket

The best time to visit Phuket is between December to March. During this time, the temperatures range from 75F to 90F (24C to 32C). It is also not so humid during this period of the year and there isn’t much rain. June, July and August have similar temperatures, but do be aware that there can be heavy rain showers during this time period.
