Solitude is crucial in this location
At first, the location doesn’t seem ideal. It is a few kilometres from the nearest beach, restaurant and available amenities, but don’t let the maps fool you. Where most other accommodations in Langkawi find themselves in the midst of the hustle and bustle of this fast-developing island, the noise at times is unbearable. There’s constant construction and when the sun sets, the beach parties tend to go on until the early hours of the morning, forcing you to cover your ears with a pillow if you’re trying to sleep. Panorama Langkawi Country Resort’s location actually allows one to revel in the solitude of nature with forests enveloping you on all sides. The staff, though eclectic, are genuine and extremely helpful. If you don’t feel comfortable on a motorbike or scooter, they’re willing to get you meals or help you out after sunset with getting what you need. And during the day, one can avoid the beach entirely and head just a kilometre or two from the hotel to complete solitude in between the two major beaches, Pantai Kok and Pantai Cenang. Surrounded by nothing but rocks and a little sand, the view on offer here is unparalleled.
These room prices are hard to beat
With over 88 rooms in the establishment, there’s an array of choices for you. And the prices reflect that. Each room is large with an attached, private bathroom and is usually built for a minimum of 3 people. The smallest rooms come with two double beds, allowing you the luxury of choice. These large rooms overlook the pool and patio downstairs. The rooms start from 20 USD a night for the aforementioned standard double room. Every room is also air conditioned and comes with a TV and cable channels.
Relax and do nothing at the gorgeous pool area
If you feel like doing nothing for the day, grab a book from the in-house library and relax by the luxurious and clean pool. Groups of 12 can also organise private pool parties. Wi-Fi is available in these public areas like the pool or the rustic, bar that’s always fully-stocked - the manager always makes sure of that. There are large sofas placed in these public areas, deck chairs for the pool and comfortable seating everywhere for you to lounge out in or hold business meetings. All drinks on offer from the beers to cocktails to water are very cheap, costing around 1 USD. There are numerous activities to do just in the hotel itself with a garden available to get your fingers green and free morning yoga classes, which you’re free to instruct if qualified.
