The Disney Ambassador Hotel in Maihama is filled with interior decorations designed with Disney character motifs. They also provide amenities with Disney characters printed on them, and the rooms are unique to this hotel themed with Mickey and Minnie as well as others. An atmosphere that makes everyone smile
After exiting JR Maihama Station and passing by Experia, Disney Ambassador Hotel comes into view and is a place full of magic and wonder.
It is right between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea and has a convenient direct shuttle bus that can take you to either in minutes.
The hotel was named such to be an ambassador of the fashion trends and illustriousness of 1920~1930s to the rest of the world through the hospitality of a hotel.
One step inside and you are greeted by Mickey and Minnie in various decorations throughout the hotel.
The ceiling of the lobby has Disney characters flying around in an airplane and in the middle of the lobby are a gleaming copper statue of Mickey and Pluto filming it.
A guest room filled with the well-loved characters
The guest rooms are separated into the Standard Floor and Ambassador Floor.
On the Standard Floor the rooms are designed in Art Deco style with Disney character motifs throughout.
Hidden in the wallpaper, carpet, and mirror is Mickey and finding them becomes a fun game.
Another alluring factor here is the original room amenities such as the toothbrush, mug, shampoo, and amenity kit (cotton swabs and hairbands), all of which have Disney characters on them which you can take home as mementos.
On the top floor is the Ambassador Floor which has a very relaxing open space.
This is the only hotel that has a Mickey Mouse Room, Minnie Mouse Room, and Donald Duck Room which all have room amenities in an original pouch (1 per room).
A restaurant to meet Disney characters
At Chef Mickey is a restaurant on the first floor where Disney characters visit each table in “Disney Character Dining”.
The food is served buffet style so you can eat what you want as much as you want.
The menu items are also in Disney character motif and during breakfast you can get Mickey shaped pancakes.
There are also seasonally limited menu items and non-alcohol cocktails that come with collectable glasses.
They also offer “Chef Mickey” souvenir photos that you can take at the entrance of the restaurant if you want one.
You pose with Chef Mickey and are presented with a special photo frame to commemorate the occasion.
This is the only place to meet Mickey in a chef costume so it might be worth making a reservation and taking a photo with him.
A mystery riddle program is also available!
Between 1-13-2015 and 3-20-2015 for 67 days you can also take the challenge of “Disney Ambassador Hotel Riddle Event, Goofy and Max’s Secret Diary”.
It is only available to people who have reservations at Disney Ambassador Hotel for 3000 JPY per set to join in the fun, which you can buy per person or per room/group.
Guests are to receive a piece of paper that Goofy found at the front desk, and try to figure out Max’s dream by finding clues throughout the hotel during the stay to figure out the code.
There are 5 levels of difficulty but the one with 4 stars has a surprise that is reserved for staying guests.
During this time Tokyo Disney Resort is holding 5 different riddle events but the one at this hotel has a very special setup waiting for those who can solve the riddle!
It takes roughly 2 to 3 hours to figure it out so it’s best to stay the night so you can take your time to figure it out.
In front of Maihama Station is the “Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center” where you can do a pre-checkin and leave your luggage there to have them deliver it to your room so that you can just head straight to Tokyo Disney Resort Parks.
The meal at Chef Mickey is very popular so make reservations ahead of time.
