When booking a hotel in Japan under 10,000 JPY / 87 USD one might worry the photos and description might be misleading. With a stay at the Hotel Trusty Nagoya, most guests will be pleasantly surprised. Right from the beginning you will see a modern, well-maintained hotel as you enter the stylish lobby.

Modern, clean, and comfortable

twin bed room

Wheeling your bags up the ramp is a breeze and at this price point you can’t always know there will be a ramp instead of stairs as you traverse the entry. The spotlessly clean reception area is a gleaming space reminiscent of a 1920s Parisian style. Here you will find a sitting area looking out on the street scene and a pleasant Italian restaurant called Lounge Couree for breakfast, lunch, or evening drinks. When it’s time to head to your room, three elevators assure you won’t have to wait long for a lift.

The staff is young, professional, and very friendly. There seems to be someone available most hours of the day that speaks English if needed. For your comfort, choose from their 250 rooms with twin beds, full, or queen sizes. Rooms range from 151 sq. ft/14 sq. m to 215 sq. ft./19.9 sq m depending on the type you choose. All seem to be very reasonably priced and the amenities are better than you would expect at this price. Most rooms come with a fridge, minibar, radio, TV, hair dryer, tub/shower combination, work desk, eco-friendly toiletries, slippers, and a decent heating and cooling system. Like most Japanese hotels, the beds are a bit firm. Unlike many Japanese hotels, this one is fairly quiet due to its off-busy-street location.

Meeting space

There is a meeting room that can accommodate up to 30 people if you need space for an event. The meeting space is conveniently located on the second floor close to the elevators. The restaurant also can be a good place for less formal meetings. They have a large table that can seat around 10–12 people. The front desk will store your baggage free of charge if needed while attending a meeting or exploring the city after checking out.

So many restaurants, and things to do nearby

Nagoya Castle

One of the best aspects of staying at the Hotel Trusty Nagoya is the location. Hundreds of restaurants are close by. To get the best of Nagoya dining, try the local specialties like a chopped version of unagi (eel), or the special thin, wide-cut udon noodles, or the miso-katsu (a pork cutlet with miso flavoring). There are French restaurants, sushi, yakitori, and more delicious choices within a few short blocks of Hotel Trusty Nagoya. The well-known department store Mitsukoshi is less than ten minutes walk away for shopping or restaurants on the 8th and 9th floors with good views of Nagoya.

For sight-seeing, the famous Nagoya Castle is a ten to fifteen minute walk from Hotel Trusty Nagoya. The front desk staff will provide you with a map and directions if needed. You can also take a taxi for about 600 JPY / 5 USD. Nagoya City Art Museum and Nagoya City Science Center and two train stations are close by as well. Fushimi station is about a four minute walk and the JR Lines Nagoya station is a ten to fifteen minute walk.

Great price and location

Nagoya is an exciting modern city with tons of things to do. Hotel Trusty is a great place to stay to enjoy all that Nagoya has to offer. You would be hard pressed to find a better hotel anywhere in Japan at this price and location.
