This mansion wouldn’t look out of place on the film set of Harry Potter. Originally constructed in the 1880s, it was was designed by the legendary architecture firm, Burnham and Root, for William E. Hale, an early Chicago entrepreneur. The mansion is given a modern lease of life inside. The high vaulted ceilings and light yellow walls make the whole place airy and spacious. Up a black spiral staircase, the master bedroom occupies the whole second floor. It features a queen-sized bed, computer desk, chaise lounge chair, and plenty of closet space for long-term renters. The attached master bathroom is pretty in powder blue and has a standing shower and hot tub. At the corner of the mansion, the octagonal turret houses the study, furnished with an antique desk. The walls are decorated with historic maps and vintage-looking artefacts. Working in such a charming environment takes some of the pain out of having to do work when on vacation.
