Different rooms to choose from

Lillydale Farmstay is not huge, but it is spacious and relaxing, especially because there are not too many guests at one time. Visitors can choose from 3 different rooms depending on the number of guests and your budget.

The Barney Room is the smallest and most suitable for couples. The Maroon Room, as shown in the picture below, is slightly larger, which is suitable for families with young children or couples. The Harper Room is the most spacious, which makes it suitable for families with several children. Each room comes with a comfortable couch, a refrigerator for storing your food and drinks as well as a dining table if you wish to dine in your room.

Located about 1 km (0.62 miles) away from the main farm is a self-contained eco-cabin, which costs more, but provides comfortable accommodation for families or those who prefer serenity and privacy. The eco-cabin, offering a spectacularly scenic view of the surrounding mountains, requires a minimum of a two night stay and price starts from 525 AUD (402 USD) per night.

All rooms come with an ensuite bathroom with daily housekeeping. Since the farm is located in a remote location, the complimentary Wi-Fi services are generally weak, so you may want to bring along your own portable Wi-Fi device.

Fully equipped kitchen

The kitchen and the entertainment room are shared among the guests. There is no restaurant on the farm, but you can request cooked meals at an additional fee. This is especially good for those who do not wish to cook during vacation.

There is no supermarket nearby, so make sure you get your ingredients or frozen food before driving down to Lillydale.

If you are using the kitchen, please make sure that you clean and wash up everything. To really pamper yourself, you can pay an additional fee if you wish to have the staff clean and wash up for you.

There is a free pool table available for guests, so you can have a lot of fun in the evening at the entertainment room. There is also a television and a sound system to liven up the mood.

Feed the adorable farm animals

Animal feeding happens twice a day at 8 am and 3 pm, where you get the opportunity to get close to all the cute farms animals. The roosters are probably the easiest to feed. Just hold the grains in your hands, although it hurts a little when their pecks start poking you!

Feeding baby lambs with a bottle full of milk is really fun and heartwarming when you see them drinking just like human babies!

Many other fun activities to choose from

Activities in Lillydale do not stop only at feeding the cute farm animals. You will be delighted to know that there is a pool within the compound where you could dip in and cool yourself off during the summer.

Horse-riding, hiking and many other activities are also available for an additional fee, so contact the resort if you wish to book one of these activities during your stay. If you do not intend to pay for these activities, you can simply take a long walk around the vicinity and enjoy the scenic view.

Visit the nearby alpaca farm

If you are an animal lover and you cannot get enough of them, you may want to visit the nearby Rathdowney Alpaca Farm, which is only a 5 minute drive away. You can enquire with the friendly staff at Lillydale for directions to the alpaca farm.

The farm is owned by a woman named Sheila who will kindly show you around the farm filled with white and brown alpacas. The fee for visiting the farm is 5 AUD (3.90 USD) per adult. She also owns a small shop where she creates items using the alpaca fur, so do buy something from her as a memorable souvenir.
