Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, is well-known as the Land of Smiles. Locals are mostly very friendly towards tourists and they can speak simple English so communication is not an issue. Bangkok is popular for its night markets, sumptuous local dishes and its party scene. However, it is also notoriously known for its massive traffic congestion due to the high number of cars and motorbikes. The best way to travel around Bangkok is using its public transportation: Bangkok Transit System (BTS). For time-starved visitors, you will want to stay in a hotel that is near public transportation.
