Rolling tea gardens with a smattering of cardamom spice plantations, waterfalls, mountain air, and tall, tall trees, all abound at the Kaivalyam Wellness Retreat in Munnar, Kerala. The Munnar region, situated at 4500 feet (1500 meters) above sea level provides a wonderful respite from the sultry, tropical weather of Cochin and surroundings. The temperatures here are 5-10 degrees cooler and there is little humidity. Historically, Munnar was a hill station that the British developed to help escape the heat. They brought along with them the cultivation of tea, and the very green tea gardens stretch up and down the hills and mountains of Munnar, intriguing in their orderliness and clipped precision. Read on to learn more about a stay at Kaivalyam Wellness Retreat.
