France is a beautifully diverse country offering a land steeped in rich history, where battles were fought, kings and queens roamed the incredibly diverse landscape, and where the language of love has seduced many a weary traveler. Though many are drawn to the big cities in France for their incredible architecture, there is no better place to stay than among the olive orchards and lavender fields of the South of France.

In the charming little village of Pelissanne, close to the famed Salon de Provence where a little known prophet named Nostradamus lived, lies a beautiful and enchanting traditional French rural retreat called The Olive Tree Villa.

This classic stone house rests amongst a small olive orchard with a view of the rolling green and purple hills of the lush lavender dotted countryside. It has two large bedrooms and one bathroom with dual mirrors and a claw foot tub. The house has two levels with a wooden staircase leading up to the master bedroom. The villa has a front and back veranda where you can enjoy your morning coffee and your fresh cooked meals.

Perhaps the best feature of this special accommodation is the private pool and outdoor, built-in, stone barbecue where you can grill fresh meats and local vegetables. The outdoor seating area has lovely views of the pool, is canopied by olive trees, and is beautifully lit at night. Enjoy a leisurely swim after a home cooked meal and revel in the serenity of this stunning home surrounded by nature.

Enjoy a stroll through the cobblestone streets of Pelissanne

The Olive Tree Villa is only a five-minute walk from the winding streets of Pelissanne – a small French village with beautifully tree-lined, cobblestone pathways. The house is perfectly located, with the convenience of a nearby town to buy fresh bread and local products, while still maintaining privacy and serenity just outside of the city center.

Pelissanne offers a quaint town square where you will often see musicians and actors performing various plays and engaging in artistic endeavors. There are a few dining options and traditional cafés lining the streets and there is a bustling open-air market every Sunday selling everything from fresh food to clothing and housewares.

Stay at The Olive Tree Villa for a perfectly relaxing vacation

There are many hotels to rent in the South of France, in bigger cities, and near more famous attractions. But if you’re looking for a peaceful oasis hidden in nature, with privacy, The Olive Tree Villa will be perfect for you.

The owner, Nadine, is extremely charming and attentive and you will often find homemade jams and chocolate croissants left on the front porch. Only charging 186 USD (approximately 170 EUR) a night, for your own private villa, you will find the attention to detail and personal touches make this particular rental a favorite in the South of France.
