Ubud, nestled high in the mountains in the heart of tropical Bali, is the perfect place to come for a getaway. Sahadewa Resort and Spa is the ultimate secluded getaway location for couples, friends, families and solo travellers alike. Located on Jl Hanoman, in the central part of town, with easy access to the Monkey Forest, Ubud’s main tourist attraction. Sahadewa is within good walking distance to explore the numerous shops, cafes, spas and yoga studios that can be found throughout Ubud. The biggest and most popular yoga studio, The Yoga Barn, is just a few minutes’ walk away, so it’s a great base if you plan to do lots of yoga!

Luxurious rooms

The rooms at Sahadewa are comfortable and spacious. Each has its own double bed complete with mosquito net, a kitchen area with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, and a shower, bath, or both. Air con is provided for those hot sticky Indonesian nights!

The bedsheets are changed every day and fresh bottles of water are put in your fridge. You’ll also find a TV in most rooms, where you can watch a variety of Indonesian TV shows.

The rooms aren’t the cheapest in Ubud, with a week in one of these rooms costing around 320 GBP (466 USD), but you get a delicious breakfast included in the price.

The pool area and spa

The pool area at Sahadewa is simply stunning, a great place to relax and unwind! Balinese statues line the pool, and you’ll smell the beautiful aroma of frangipani as the staff lay offerings to the gods each morning. Take your pick from one of the many sunloungers as you soak up the strong midday heat.

When you’ve had enough of sunbathing, why not try their spa? There’s a small treatment room at the back of the hotel that offers facials, reflexology treatments, ear candling and massages from as little as 10 GBP (14.50 USD). There’s usually no need to book, just contact reception or make your way to the back of the hotel, and speak to the team.

The restaurant at Sahadewa

The restaurant offers a good selection of food for breakfast and for lunch. One of my favourite things at Sahadewa were the banana pancakes I had virtually every morning for breakfast. They were simply delicious! Other breakfast items include croissants and eggs on toast, all served with your choice of freshly squeezed fruit juice or tea. Lunch is traditional indonesian, and is basic, but filling.

The restaurant is spacious, and offers you views over the main road of Jl Hanoman, where you can see hordes of scooters whizzing by as the crowds commute from place to place. The staff are very attentive and aim to meet your every need.

A relaxing stay

Overall this is a lovely gem in the heart of Ubud, with very smiley, friendly staff, a great pool, and a fabulous base from which to explore Ubud. If you’re looking for quality accommodation near all the main attractions, Sahadewa is the place to be!
