Found along the Pocono Mountains, Camelback Resort in Tannersville is a short drive from Scranton—approximately less than an hour via I-380 N. From spring through fall, it’s a lovely place to breathe in the fresh mountain air and to enjoy some family-friendly bonding at their indoor and outdoor waterparks. Come winter, it turns into a white wonderland filled to the brim with endless thrills.

Winter at Camelback Resort means plenty of skiing and tubing. They have a mega tubing park with 42 high-speed lanes, ski equipment rental, and 39 ski trails spread across 166 ac (67 ha) of slopes, with the longest run spanning 1.4 km (0.9 mi). 2. Skytop Lodge, Canadensis (from USD 235)

Dubbed as the grandest family resort in the entire Pocono Mountains, Skytop Lodge is every bit as grand as they say. Past the expansive lawn, the driveway will take you to a massive Dutch Colonial manor-style hotel, surrounded by 5,500 ac (2,225 ha) of fun activities no matter the season. Best of all, it’s located about 30 minutes from Scranton.

When snow covers the grounds, you can enjoy tubing, ice skating at Skytop Lake or the pavilion, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and skiing down the slopes of West Mountain.
