Located right in the centre of Krakow’s historic and charming Old Town, Tango House B&B is just a short stroll away from interesting churches and museums, lively shopping areas, and the large market square. The train station is also just a short walk of around ten minutes away.

The boutique bed and breakfast is within a grand house with plenty of history and charms. The modern rooms are bright and airy, with the added twist of a captivating tango theme.

A comfortable and attractive accommodation option close to many major places of interest, here’s why you should consider staying at Tango House B&B when visiting one of Poland’s most beautiful cities:

Good choice of comfortable rooms in a small boutique property

Tango House B&B has several room types, all with a private bathroom. With just eight rooms in total though, you can enjoy a more intimate stay than in a larger establishment.

There are rooms for two with a double bed or two twin beds, as well as rooms that can accommodate three or four guests. If you like to have the convenience of self-catering facilities when away from home, two rooms (one double and one twin) have kitchenettes. Kitchenette facilities include a microwave, refrigerator, and a tea and coffee machine.

The prices are pretty reasonable too! For example, a night in the Double Economy Room is 260 PLN (approximately 67 USD), the Twin Standard and Double Standard rooms cost 300 PLN (approximately 77 USD) per night, and it is 340 PLN (approximately 88 USD) per night in a Twin Superior or Double Superior room.

Great room facilities for a pleasant stay

The rooms are very clean and the furnishings are in excellent condition. The décor looks crisp and fresh and attractive tango-themed pictures adorn the walls. Feel the sultry and vibrant energy of the famous Argentinean / Uruguayan style of dance with tango music on demand through the speakers! Turn on and tune in for exciting sounds, or switch it off and enjoy some relaxing peace and quiet - the choice is yours.

An efficient heating system keeps you warm at colder times of the year, and you can snuggle under the plush duvet for extra cosiness. In the summer, a ceiling fan helps you keep cool.

A selection of mini toiletries and a hairdryer are provided in the gleaming bathrooms and all rooms have satellite TV and tea and coffee making facilities. In addition, each room has a private safe for total peace of mind.

Some rooms overlook the courtyard whilst others give great views of the bustling streets. Depending on the room type you may have extra features, such as a balcony, a sofa or small seating area, or a desk.

Stay in a charming building with lots of interesting history

Tango House B&B is housed within a former city bathhouse. With a history that dates back to the 1500s, it was the earliest public bathhouse in Krakow. The communal areas have been wonderfully preserved to allow guests to enjoy the historic atmosphere.

You enter the property through a small opening in the street. Although it has a large sign, the alley may be a little off-putting; it does look rather dark and gloomy from the outside! Don’t let initial appearances fool you though. As you pass through the private covered alley you will be surrounded by original bare brick walls with the odd picture of a couple dancing tango. There is also a lovely display of colourful and retro tango-themed pictures and advertisements. After a few steps you will find yourself in a small but quaint inner-courtyard, complete with a few tables and chairs and leafy potted plants. The reception area / cafe is behind the courtyard and the rooms are accessed by a staircase to the right of the courtyard.

Look on the walls above the old wooden staircase and you will see some lovely decorative details. After climbing a few stairs look down and you can admire an old fountain. Dim lighting adds to the character.

Other facilities and amenities to make life easy

Guests can use an iron and ironing board on request. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the property. Luggage storage facilities are available.

The property has a small café. Grab a steaming hot drink and chill out in the courtyard or sit inside and have a chat with the friendly staff. Members of staff speak Polish and English and they are a great source of information about the local area.

Despite calling itself a bed and breakfast, breakfast is not actually automatically included as standard. Guests who book directly do receive a free breakfast each day, whereas bookings made elsewhere incur an additional charge of 20 PLN (approximately 5 USD) for breakfast. There are, however, often special offers and deals available that do include breakfast – make sure you check first to avoid disappointment!

Start the day with a filling buffet-style continental breakfast, including hot drinks, fruit juice, bread, pastries, and a selection of sweet jams. Standard breakfast times are between 8.00 am and 10.00 am, although special arrangements can be agreed before-hand if you have an earlier start due to trips or onward transportation.

I believe that Kraków is one of the best places to visit and to live. Maybe it's because of Wawel Chakra, which is considered to be one of the place of enourmous power?! Or maybe thanks to its unique mixture of the Old Town, Jewish history and the communist legacy?! Or perhaps the famous polish pierogies and kielbasa?! I believe that everyone will find something for himself. During 8 years of experience as the guide I took care of more than 3000 people from more than 80 countries. It helped me to understand needs of my clients and to develop interpersonal skills. I base my tour on humor, associations and connections in order to make it fun and unforgettable. Major attractions within easy reach of Tango House B&B

Mariacki Church / St Mary’s Church is just a few minutes’ walk from the property. One of Krakow’s oldest religious buildings and impressive both inside and out, admission costs just 10 PLN (approximately 2.50 USD). Every hour on the hour a person appears in the tower to sound the time with a bugle call. You can hear this from inside your room, but do try and stand below the tower at least once at the turn of the hour to watch and listen.

Mariacki Church / St Mary’s Church stands on one corner of the main market square. This is one of the largest medieval squares in all of Europe. Other attractions in this area include the historic Cloth Hall, now home to an indoor market, St Adalbert’s Church, the Historical Museum of Krakow, and the Town Hall Tower. Many charming historic buildings can be found around the square and there are numerous excellent restaurants and cafes.

Discover Krakow’s plethora of delights from the ambient Tango House B&B.
