Portland is a city of obscurities. Kombucha on tap, vegan mac n-cheese tacos, and dinosaur drink toppers are just a few of the oddities you will find during your stay. While a typical hotel room may be convenient and predictable, it will not give you the authentic Portland experience. Instead, stay in this one-of-a-kind tiny house. There is no other place that says, “Portland” like the Yakuza Garden Cabin.

Your urban oasis awaits

Portland is full of neighborhoods, each with their own appeal and personality. The Alberta Arts District is a unique area of town full of cozy tearooms, local artisan shops, and the like. Off of the main street, there’s a popular lounge, Yakuza, that is known for its delicious and creative menu. While many locals enjoy the mouth-watering cuisine and contemporary atmosphere, few are aware of the cozy cabin hidden in the backyard. This secret home away from home is the perfect place for those who want to be near the heart of the action while still enjoying a quiet and peaceful escape.

A tiny home with massive amounts of charm

The tiny house trend is in full swing, and this cabin has done a fantastic job of exhibiting all the modern charm of this fun new fashion. I was worried that the space would feel crowded, but it felt shockingly spacious. The mini kitchen has more than enough space to cook a meal for the two people that can fit in the Yakuza Garden Cabin and there is plenty of space to relax and hang out on the massive L-shaped couch. There are no doors within the cabin, but half a wall and a light curtain separates the living room and kitchen from the bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom are tucked cozily at the end of the cabin where you can fall asleep listening to the gentle patter of the never-ending Oregon rain.

Hip style in a hip neighborhood

The woman who owns and decorated the cabin, Dayna, has an incredible eye. Every corner of the cabin is immaculately designed and decorated. This awesome style goes beyond the hot tub, outdoor shower, and gardened patio that surround the cabin. This style continues throughout the nearby neighborhood. On the same street as Yakuza are two other restaurants owned by the same person: Nonna and DOC. Nonna is an incredible Italian restaurant with a drinking chocolate you can’t miss. Next door, DOC is a small, reservation-only restaurant that will blow you away. But that’s only the start of it. Alberta Street and Mississippi Ave are two popular areas of Northeast Portland that are only a few blocks from Yakuza Garden Cabin.
