With so many hotel choices in Las Vegas, which one should you stay in? Well, in the triangle of needs, it depends. Your preferences can vary depending on the cost, location, or the service. If cost is your primary concern, then look no further: the Stratosphere delivers. Located in the North end of the Strip, in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street (where “Old” Las Vegas is located), you can’t miss the Stratosphere. Characterized by the huge tower that features great views of the Strip as well as the adrenaline-pumping thrill rides on top of the tower, the Stratosphere is pretty much an icon in the area.

Unlimited access to the Stratosphere Tower

One of the perks of staying in this hotel as a guest is that you get free and unlimited access to the Stratosphere Tower. Whether you prefer to go there during the day or at night, access is quick and convenient. You’ll also get discounts on the thrill rides located on the top of the tower, but if riding them isn’t your thing, it’s free to watch them from the observation deck. The top of the tower also has a gift shop where you can buy kitschy items, but of course the star of the show is the view of the Strip: which you can view both inside (within a glass panel) or outside (out in the element: feel the wind in your hair). After all, that’s why you came up there, right?

Your slumber awaits

Upon arrival at the hotel, note that you need to walk through the casino prior to reaching the reception counter for check-in. As the check in counter is manned by very few people, this can result in longer than usual wait times for check-in, sometimes even an hour long. Note there is a daily resort fee that covers your Internet and use of pool (located in another building).

Nevertheless, you can look forward to a good night’s rest if you decide to stay in this hotel. The bed is comfortable and would be big enough for you (and your significant other – or your shopping bags). You also get a desk to work on, as well as a TV with cable channels. The TV can also be used to do instant check outs – so there’s no need to queue up at the reception desk again, making for an effortless checkout process. Be careful which channels you choose to watch on the TV though, as some channels are pay per view only. You don’t want to incur extra charges on your credit card, do you?

The bathroom is of standard size with shampoo and soap provided for your use. Note that if you’re staying longer, they do not refill the toiletries, so pack accordingly. That or call housekeeping to get your refill of toiletries for free!

Thrilling tip at the end of the Strip

Room at Stratosphere Hotel

More than an accommodation provider, the Stratosphere Hotel provides entertainment and dining options that spell great convenience. If you wish to experience a truly unique dining experience, go no further than the Stratosphere’s very own Top of The World restaurant located high up in the Stratosphere Tower. The highlight of the menu is fillet mignon, and the view of Vegas is lovely, especially at night. When you’ve finished that fillet mignon, go down to the 2nd floor and visit the complimentary gym to burn some of those calories off!

For the perfect place to cap off a memorable night, try the Level 107 Lounge, which is located on the 107th level of the Stratosphere. Great views and friendly bartenders serving delicious food and drinks, it’s hard to beat.

The time and money conundrum

Overall, the Stratosphere Hotel is a pretty decent accommodation in Las Vegas. Its value for money, and convenient location to the Strip makes it a good choice. However, note that you may have to spend more time either walking to your next destination or spending a few dollars extra to take a bus or the monorail to get to the other end of the strip.
