A lesser-known town in Salford City, Greater Manchester, Swinton attracts tourists for its historic significance and rustic countryside charm. Its name is a derivative of “Swynton”, the Old English for “Swine Town". Today, this town is the perfect retreat from stressful city life. Visitors like to see ancient neoclassical structures such as the Salford Civic Center which features a 38-meter (125-feet) high clock tower. The sight of rolling hills and stretches of lush green farmland provides the respite you need from the chaotic concrete jungle. Here you can immerse yourself in nature, and yet be within walking distance of the nearest village or town center. Go for a change of scenery and experience a peaceful farmstead stay by booking one of the top yurts near Swinton, UK!
