Dormy Inn Toyama, located in the beautiful Northern Japanese city of Toyama, offers a very particular perk to its visitors. Placed at a 15-minutes’ walk from Toyama train station, the hotel offers indeed natural hot spring facilities! In this amazing location in the center of Toyama city, you can also find the Toyama Castle and many restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby. Although a little further from the station that the rest of the hotels, it is definitely worth the stay! Let me show you why…

Tsurugi no Yu, natural hot spring at Dormy Inn Toyama

There are a lot of positive things to say about Dormy Inn Toyama, but its most attractive feature is without a doubt the natural hot spring they offer inside their facilities. Each room comes with a bathtub and a shower, but if you want to get a taste of the Japanese hot spring culture, I really recommend that you try it out. The atmosphere there is authentic, and very relaxing, thanks to the dim lighting of the facility. There is also a small section where you can bathe outside, as well as sauna rooms. The hot spring area is relatively large and usually not so crowded, so you really get plenty of time to loosen up your mind and body.

Have a good night's sleep in a Japanese size compact room!

The hotel was built in 2005 September so it is still relatively new. The size of the single room is not large, but is comfortable for a single traveler. It is still very clean and everything is neatly organized. They offer a few amenities in each room, but you can also ask for other free goodies, such as a room humidifier. Since staying at a hotel can be pretty tough on the skin and the hair, this extra is very much appreciated!, They are placed on each floor right next to the elevator for those who want to take one into their rooms.

The bedding and other room decorations they use in a room is simple but clean, making you feel very comfortable. Some hotels have sheets and beddings that are tough after laundry, but everything is clean and soft here. In addition, if you are not much of a hot spring person, there is a small bathroom with a shower and a bathtub, which is also clean with good haircare products placed.

Extra care at Dormy Inn Toyama

Something you notice staying at Dormy Inn Toyama is the small things they do at every little corner of the hotel. For example in this picture above, you see a seat placed in the elevator for those who need to take a sit while waiting. From all these little details, you can see that the hotel is placing a lot of efforts in helping people with disabilities and reduced mobility.

On top of the chair in the elevator, you can find emergency water, in case of a natural disaster.. Dormy Inn Toyama prepares for any kind of situation, and it is not something you see everywhere in Japan. This hotel makes you feel safe and well protected.

Step out of the hotel and explore Toyama city

Dormy Inn Toyama is not too far from Toyama station, but if you do not want to walk too much, you can take a cable car to the nearest train station to visit the city. If you are up to it, you should take a walk around the city to see what it has to offer. Toyama city is internationally recognized for having an amazing city planning: the city’s design is carefully organized, and making is easy to get around. From the hotel, Toyama castle is right around the corner and it is usually not so crowded. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to enjoy a beautiful Japanese castle all by yourself. Additionally, you can choose to dine at the hotel, I would recommend to go outside and try out the fresh and rich seafood served in the many restaurants and bars in the area. The breakfast offered at Dormy Inn Toyama is pretty good, if you decide to choose their additional breakfast buffet. For an additional 1,000 JPY (8 USD, you will get a well-balanced Japanese and American style breakfast.

Have a relaxed stay in a very convenient location

Certainly, the main reason that I would recommend staying at Dormy Inn Toyama is the natural hot spring. The atmosphere they created is relaxing and authentic, contributing to making your stay very comfortable. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Toyama station, which can be useful when you leave. Unfortunately, there is no pick up service from the train station for when you arrive.

The accommodation fee starts from 7,490 JPY (62 USD) and for those of you traveling by car, you will pay an additional 1,000 JPY (8 USD) to park your car. For this price, it is a well-provided hotel with helpful staff at the concierge. I highly recommend it for your next trip to Toyama!
