Held from 5th June - 7th June 2019, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with the Thai tourism industry, brought together buyers and sellers to the largest B2B event, the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+). This year’s event was held at Ocean Marina Yacht Club, Pattaya, Chon Buri, where visitors were treated to a view of the parked yachts and the ocean.
Beyond business transactions, the event was graced with the presence of Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications. There he presented the upcoming direction of Thailand’s tourism, while highlighting what travellers can look forward to. Read on to know the useful details.
The mantra: New Shades of Emerging Destinations
The theme of TTM+ 2019 is that of ‘New Shades of Emerging Destinations’. Visitors can look forward to seeing Thailand’s off-the-beaten-track destinations get promoted, with the goal of motivating tourists to explore undiscovered experiences in Thailand. The strategy employed is highlighted below, utilizing existing tourist hotspots to make further destinations more accessible.
The A-B-C Strategy
A – Additional: Linking major and emerging cities
B – Brand New: Promoting new potential emerging cities
C – Combined: Combining emerging cities together
From cities teeming with cultural significance to wilder towns promising adventures galore, visitors to Thailand will now have much more easily accessible options beyond the standard fare.
Connecting buyers and sellers
Travelers have much to look forward to as TTM+ facilitated numerous business deals. Travel agencies were given the chance to meet with local tour providers allowing for better journeys, options, and adventures for travelers. Local travel agencies worldwide will soon be able to include new and exciting experiences to their portfolios through the myriad connections formed at the event.
