Just outside Los Angeles, La Habra is a sizable town in Orange County, California. Known for its museums, festivals, and other events, it is a truly interesting place to visit. Its driving distance to Los Angeles and nearby towns makes it an ideal spot to stop and stay.
1. Visit the La Habra Historical Museum
Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing
Also known as the Old Settlers Historical Museum (because it was founded by the La Habra Old Settlers Historic Society), the La Habra Historical Museum “serves as an interpretive center focusing on the many historical eras in the community’s development”. It’s only open on Saturdays, but exhibits feature all kinds of historical artifacts in La Habra’s history.

4. Take a day trip to Los Angeles
Los Angeles is only a 40-minute drive from La Habra, so why wouldn’t you visit? Even if you just keep driving around, taking in the Hollywood sign or the strip, or passing by all the studios, it’s worth it to say you’ve explored one of the country’s most famous cities. While you’re there, maybe treat yourself by stopping at a cafe that looks good and enjoy a cup of coffee, or take a walk on the beach.

I mean, I guess you can visit even if you don’t have kids, but it is geared toward children. Classes, birthday parties, field trips, and other special events like S.M.ART Fridays and mini golf tournaments make this museum a fun learning atmosphere for kids. Plus, you can just take a good old fashioned tour around the museum; every room is different and holds a new fascination - including a little carousel!

If you’re on vacation, you might as well shop, right? They’ve got the big brand name stores, plus some high-end ones that I’ve never even heard of! Not to mention all the different restaurants. If you go here, I’m sure you’ll struggle to decide which stores to visit and where to eat; maybe you should make a day of it. See their site for their complete list of stores.

7. See a show at La Habra Depot Playhouse
Seeing a show is always one of my favorite things to do. And in La Habra, Mysterium Theater is the group that does it all - shows, classes for singing, dancing, and acting. They’ve only been around since 2009, and “in 2014, the City selected Mysterium to lease La Habra’s Depot Playhouse […] Mysterium staged several plays beginning in September of 2014, and has continued to offer a variety of musicals, plays, magic shows, stand-up comedy and more!” So if you’re in town, take them up on their offer to “come play” with them, and see a show.

8. Attend one of La Habra’s many events
There’s always something going on in this town. The Citrus fair, the Mineral and Gem show, Annual Tamale Festival, the Helicopter Egg Drop, you name it. I don’t know about you, but they sure sound interesting. Visit their site for information on all their special events.
