The road to get to the Element Miami Airport Hotel (owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts) is not the easiest or most elegant. It involves driving through an industrial-looking area, across roads with potholes, and the sight of trucks, slabs of stone, and fences don’t exactly remind you of Miami’s flair and energy. However, once you step inside the lobby, all your worries will melt away. If you have a flight to catch at Miami’s sprawling international airport, then this eco-friendly hotel is a great choice for you.

Light-filled lobby

The lobby is a sprawling place, which includes not only the reception desk, but also the breakfast area, a large TV, and a big area for either dining or relaxation. near the lobby’s tall, gleaming glass windows. Perhaps the most striking feature of the lobby is the vast amounts of beautiful natural light that filters through the glass windowpanes, from all sides and angles. The lobby is usually bathed in light, and it helps create an atmosphere of relaxation and optimism.

The room

Your accommodation at the Element Hotel comes in two choice: spacious studio or one-bedroom suites. The suite has its own living room, with a large flat-screen TV, work desk, coffee table, sofa, and loveseat. Near the entrance is a full-size kitchenette, complete with refrigerator, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, plates, utensils, and glasses. The bathrooms have a contemporary design, and deluxe amenities.

Fresh and healthy breakfast buffet

When you wake up in the morning and want to quench your hunger to get ready for a flight, the Element has a fantastic variety of offerings to start your day off right.

You can choose from a variety of juices, sweet or unsweet iced tea, and hot beverages. There are also delicious smoothie “shots”, delivered in small shot glasses, which give you a fruity sugar rush, but their small size means that you don’t overload on sugar so early in the day. There are various cereals you can choose from, as well as bagels (whole wheat, cinnamon, plain) and English muffins. The main meal consists of fresh egg and cheese bagels or, for the health conscious, egg and spinach bagels.

It is a truly delicious and wide assortment of healthy choices, and is not to be missed (the breakfast is included in your price, so the only way to miss it is by falling asleep!).

Amenities

Additional services that are available at the hotel include a business center, a complimentary shuttle service for up to 3 miles, complimentary internet for all guests, and a 24-hour fitness center.

There is also a great option to rent a bike and do your own Miami tour. An interesting neighborhood to explore from this location is Coral Gables, which is a few miles away.

I was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, in the Soviet Union, and left for the USA when I was 23 years old, just out of college. Leningrad was and still is a city with great cultural traditions. I fell in love with its world-famous museums, art galleries, theaters, and other attractions. I have been guiding tours for most of my life and began while still in high school. During the summer, Leningrad was visited by numerous youth groups from the UK and USA and English-speaking students were recruited to show them around. That is how I got my first taste of being a tour guide. I continued guiding through college and often worked with young adults. After leaving the USSR, I settled in New York City, went to graduate school, and started my own travel company in 1985. We primarily worked with international visitors showing them famous places of interest all over the country, from coast to coast. Though I had other tour guides working at my company, I continued to guide because it was rewarding and enjoyable. I traveled extensively throughout the country and that's how I first became acquainted with South Florida. I instantly fell in love with this beautiful place and eventually moved to the Miami Beach area. I love South Florida and want my tourists to feel the same way. I am exhilarated by its nature and history and I promise to get you excited as well. See you in Miami!
