Known for its festivals, Blythewood is full of events all year round. Check out the Township Auditorium and the Colonial Life Arena for the latest concerts and shows, including Jerry Seinfeld, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and local artists.
The Blythewood Rodeo is held annually, in June. You’ll be able to watch bull riding, barrel racing, and other rodeo events, up close. Tickets are 14 USD for adults, 7 USD for kids, and kids five and under, enter for free.
Check out nearby events like the Rosewood Crawfish Festival for great seafood, the Columbia Blues Festival for jazz music by local and nationally recognized artists, and the Tasty Tomato Festival, where you’ll eat tomatoes prepared every way imaginable! Farmers markets are a great activity - not only do you get to support local businesses, you get to see a whole new side of the town you’re visiting. Even if you don’t see anything that catches your eye, you’ll get to chat with locals and learn about life in Blythewood.
Buy farm-fresh eggs, grass-fed meat, and freshly baked bread. Sample freshly-roasted coffee and home-brewed kombucha. Explore the market for items such as paintings, handmade jewelry, and hand-crafted soaps.
The farmers market puts on shows and demonstrations from time to time that you can enjoy while you shop. 3. Pick up a club and play a round of golf at University Club at Cobblestone Park
A visit to Blythewood is the perfect time to hone your championship golf skills. Luckily, the University Club at Cobblestone Park is located right in Blythewood, with a beautiful, 27-hole course. The course has even been voted one of the best in the Midlands. Starting at 30 USD, you’ll be able to purchase a round of golf, though the prices are steeper on the weekends.
When you’re done with your golf game, you might consider dropping into the 28,000 square foot (2,601 square meter) clubhouse, which houses Alexander’s at Cobblestone Park, a luxury restaurant. If you’re not a golfer, Alexander’s is worth stopping in just for a meal, and you’ll be able to eat while overlooking the beautiful golfing greens. The restaurant is open from Sunday to Thursday 11am-6pm and Friday and Saturday 11am-9pm. Keep in mind that reservations are required over the weekend. Try dishes like their margarita flatbread, classic shrimp and grits, or chicken Francaise.

Strolling down the walking path at Doko Meadows Park, you might catch a mouth-watering smell wafting over from the neighboring BBQ joint. South Carolina is known for its excellent barbecue, and Doko Smoke Barbecue is no exception. Walk on over and check it out!
Doko Smoke Barbecue is a casual restaurant, and you’ll have the option to dine in or carry out. Order classic dishes such as ribs, pulled pork, or chicken. You can also order sandwiches, and all meals come with classic country sides. Choose from mac ‘n cheese, green beans, coleslaw, or hash and rice. On Fridays, you might notice the restaurant seems to be packed - that’s because the brisket plate is only available on Fridays.
The restaurant is only open Thursdays and Fridays from 11am-7pm and Saturdays from 10:30am-2pm.
